I'm not even going to get involved in this one.

I just feel bad for the dude. He can't do anything right in some people's minds.

He was asked who he thought would win and gave and answer, but but to go on like he was Benedict Arnold is ridiculous, good lord why is it that people care so much about what Tmac says?
You mean Cavs, Lakers, Magic, and Celtics?

Rockets have played the Cavs and Celtics tough this season, and have a good history when it comes to playing the Magic even recently. The only reason i'd say we don't have a shot is because the Lakers are still healthy and rolling and they have pretty much owned us this season.

Regardless of what we all think is the end result in the grand scheme of things is a moot point. You just don't abandon your team. At the very least you just say that a matchup w/ LA would be tough, and you remain as a cutman in your fighters corner so to speak.
Then you think he should keep his head in the sand & not acknowledge reality.

Tom Izzo said if UNC & Mich St both played their best game, Carolina would win. So I guess he abandoned his team & threw them under the bus.

            Get a grip, son.

I'm not trying to get involved w/ semantics, but at least Izzo didn't say his team has no chance.

For the record I'm not someone who just clamors for an opportunity to diss on T-Mac. It's just I find a lot of what he says to just be stupid. He's a good player...brittle, but good.

"The Lakers were without Bynum, but they've been without him more than they have been WITH him"

With the way people talk up Andrew Bynum, you'd think he was Wilt Chamberlain,Bill Russell,Kareem,Shaq, with a little bit of George Mikan, all rolled in to one.

& T-mac never said his team didn't have a chance either. He said LA was the favorite. At its base, Izzo said the same thing McGrady did. So either both of them abandoned their team or none of them did.

It's one thing for a coach to say but for a player to say it means something else. Sure the players might be thinking it but you don't say that.

                            This.

I'm not a T-Mac ***** (I'm quite fond of his wife's wedding pics, lol) but this is a case where even if you know you're not gonna win you lie. It's not like the Rockets are the #8 seed with the chips stacked against them. I can see how some appreciate the honesty being that it's rare these days in interviews but if I was a teammate I'd be pissed, especially given how he handled his whole injury situation (yeah I'm bringing up old sh**).

Wait, wait, wait. Its better for your leader to say it, but your fellow soldier to do it, its wrong?
