I posted it because Ron Ron was being crazy Ron again and I thought it was funny. Nobody said anyone should take his comment one way or another.

Re: T-mac Sells out his own team?

The issue here is not about McGrady being honest, or giving the generic answer. The issue is about McGrady not supporting his team. Nobody who says he is the wrong for his comments means that he is wrong for being truthful. He is in the wrong for not supporting his team.

I understand many people want these guys to say what's on thier mind instead of giving cliche after cliche. BUT, there is a time and place to do it, and picking against your own team is not the time. There's also times when you need to keep your opinion to yourself, and just give lip service even if you don't mean it. He could have given an honest opinion on any other topic. There are tons of other issues that he could have given his personal opinion on, that us fans would be grateful to hear.

I do appreciate McGrady giving honest answers, but he needs to pick his spots a little better when he does it.

How did he go against his team? How did his words set Houston backwards? "Tracy doesn't think we're the favorites. We're doomed. Woe iz us! T-Mac must hate us."

Like I said, there was no right answer for him the minute that question was asked.

True. He answers honestly, and he is a traitor and a bad teammate. Or he can pick Houston, and be a delusional homer.

                  .

No, it's not that tragic, I just think that as a teammate, and especially a team leader, you have to show some loyalty and support to your team.

It's not a huge deal. But, he could have at least said something like, "I think LA will win, but watch out for the Rockets. I think we have a great chance too."

How did he show disloyalty? Answer the question. Did he say,"I hope LA wins"? How did he show non-support? Did he say "I hope Houston loses"? Answer the question.

Not to be an ***, but if you don't see it already, there's nothing I can say to you that will make you see it the way I do.

Compare it to this. Next time you're out in public with your girlfriend (or wife, whatever), have someone ask you who the prettiest girl in the place is. Then, right in front of her, answer that the girl in the pink blouse with the huge rack is the hottest. Then see how your woman feels about your honest answer, and see if she feels like you're still being supportive and loyal.

That is not the equivalent of the McGrady situation. "Hot" is a matter of taste. McGrady was not asked who he liked better or who he preferred. He was asked who was more likely to win.

A better analogy would be if a husband was asked who would be more likely to be hired as a Hooters waitress. And if someone else in the room has 42's & his wife is 42, he wouldn't be wrong to say the other woman would get hired first.

If he loves his wife or even likes her a little bit...he would say "My wife, of course!", and even though she obviously knows he's lying, she would still appreciate it. She would expect him to put her feelings before the appearance of "keepin it real" to some dude.

In this situation, your 42 year old wife is a former model and MILF that works out religously and really isn't that far from the other girl. And while everyone else may go with the young chick, based on the attachment he feels for his lady, he could choose his wife and actually be telling the truth from his perspective. IMO, thats where Mac's head should've been. The Lakers are the best in the west, but the Rox could beat them, just like ORL could knock off my Cavs.

Is he good friends with Kobe or something? Dislikes LeBron?

                              He also said this:

McGrady, who's expected to be with the team for Game 3 on Friday at Toyota Center, told Rome he thinks the Rockets will beat Portland. He also said he doesn't believe the Cleveland Cavaliers have what it takes to win the NBA championship, saying they can't beat the Lakers or even the Rockets.

"I'm confident we're going to get past Portland and we play the Lakers in the second (round)," he said. "If it's a Lakers-Cavaliers finals, I don't think they can beat the Lakers. I don't even think they can beat my Rockets in a seven-game series. I'm just that confident."
