No....Marion is a free agent. As of July 1st his salary is off the books. This was one of the main reasons for the JO/Marion trade. For the Raps to get capspace this summer, not next summer.

I hate it when teams develop a player who turns into a all-star and leads them to a 1st round exit or 2 and all of a sudden said team feels compelled to hand max money to the player just because they holding on to that thread of hope that he will someday lead them to a chip. I really hate it when the player has already reached his peak and his peak isnt max money status, but the GM seems to think that he hasnt reached his peak and pays him off potential that the player has already realized.

It is really ironic how O'Neal (another all-star player who led his team to a couple 1st round exits and got paid max money on potential that he had already realized) didnt work out with the Raptors, because it was like Bosh was looking at himself in 3 or 4 years. Creepy to see yourself in the future 1st hand I bet.

You are only a max player if you are the absolute centerpiece to the team no matter who would join the team. Amare isnt max player either in my books. Too fraile.

When you talk max money you should be talking MVP candidates year after year. THAT SHOULD BE THE STANDARD IN TODAYS ECONOMY.

Duncan, KG, Dirk, and Amare are all much better players than Bosh (and the first 3 at age 24 aren't even close). I don't see much separating him from Jamison, Aldridge, West, or Gasol.

I see him as a max contract in Toronto, but only in about 2-3 other places (Milwaukee for sure). Everywhere else, he's a good, but not great PF.

i dont see duncan, kg, dirk, and amare being MUCH better players than bosh... duncan and kg are both better defensively, and they are better leaders, they get their teams going and that's why they have both been mvps... but bosh is a better scorer than both... dirk and amare are pretty much on the same level as bosh... bosh can score right with those guys, none of them are anything special defensively, one thing bosh has over them both is neither one of them have ever averaged 20-10, bosh has twice... if bosh was on a winning team people would mention him as possibly an elite power forward in the nba, but since his team is garbage he gets no credit...

Funny how it works that everyone on his team sucks aside from him. Certainly the difference between those teams couldn't be the PF.

Bosh is not a max player...He has max talent...Big difference.

He needs to improve his game much more before he can become a max player..Leadership, defense, rebounding...Clutch play where he isn't very good. Clutch not just on offense, but defense as well. He makes bad plays at times...

Like I said, it takes more than just looking at numbers to say somebody is elite because if that was the case then Devin Harris should be considered an elite PG then since he was one of the highest scorers at his position.

There's a reason why guys like Kobe,Duncan,KG,Dirk,Lebron are considered "elite" players and it's because these guys have proven time and time again that they can elevate their play when it matters and elevate their teammates play as well as doing the other little things that can't be recorded on a stat sheet.

well i'm sticking with the opinion that dirk is not any better than bosh... he has more range on his shot, that's where it ends... you can't compare devin harris to bosh... toronto has been led to the playoffs by bosh... he has shown he can be the man on a playoff team... i said kg and duncan are better defensively, and better leaders, better getting team mates going... but bosh is a legit superstar whether you want to admit it or not...

jamison is an above average PF, but not a superstar.... he can't be the man on a good team, bosh could be... and has been...

there is no clear cut best at the power forward position right now... bosh will be the best PF in the league soon though... the only guys who are clear cut THE BEST at their positions right now would be chris paul and lebron...
