If Dalembert elbowed Dwight in the head the way Dwight did to him, I would think a suspension for Dalembert in the playoffs would be over the top.

Hell, just watch what Dalembert/Evans/Ratliff does to Dwight in the post every time Dwight tries to gain position. It's absolute rape, and over the course of the game is worse than that elbow.

The T on Dwight was all that was needed. He doesn't have a history of attacking other players. If he does it again, suspend him. But this was just a one time thing.

I tell you the truth it would mean a lot more to me if the sixers won with Dwight Howard in the lineup. When he is in the lineup though they just get outplayed.

Funny. I don't see where taking into account a players case history is a prerequisite for weighing a suspension.

If Dwight Howard elbowed people in the face every game, don't you think he would be suspended for longer periods after each elbow?

Isn't this part of the basic fundamentals of law?

If I sell crack once, I might get off on probation. If I sell crack twice, I might go to jail for a few years. If I sell crack three times, I will be in jail for a very long time.

Reputations and record should certainly be taken into account.

Dwight Howard isn't a dirty player, and to remove him from a highly competitive Game Six in Philadelphia is like giving the Sixers a win. It would be unfair to him and the Magic.

Yeah, man, I agree with the first part as a fan of the game. If Iggy did this, I would still want him to play. It's not like he stomped on someone's face, cheated, or even knocked the player out of the game.

He deserves it and is unnecessary IMO, but tell you the truth I would much rather see the sixers win with him in the lineup.

He should've gotten ejected the last game but I wouldn't have suspended him. Rondo definitely shouldn't be suspended either but that was a flagrant foul.

Smith did earlier this season when he threw a short jab elbow at Antoine Wright which sent Mark Cuban into a hissy fit) but if you make contact the NBA will probably take action. If they do nothing to Howard look for Phoenix fans to go nuts once again after they were so strict in the case of the Amare/Diaw leaving the bench rule. The real question is why doesn't anyone care that Chris Paul has thrown an elbow at Dahntay Jones and a punch at Chris Andersen?"

This is what the rulebook says (my bold):

k. A technical foul, unsportsmanlike act or flagrant foul must be called for a participant to be ejected. A player, coach or trainer may be ejected for:
(1) An elbow foul which makes contact shoulder level or below
(2) Any unsportsmanlike conduct where a technical foul is assessed
(3) A flagrant foul where unnecessary and/or excessive contact occurs
EXCEPTION: Rule 12A--Section V--l(5)
l. A player, coach or trainer must be ejected for:
(1) A punching foul
(2) A fighting foul
(3) An elbow foul which makes contact above shoulder level

He should also be called for a three second violation about fifteen times a game, but that's another discussion.

The NBA had to do this based on their past decisions. Got to stay consistent.
