I think Magic and Jordan combined is the best comparison.

Yes, he has some of Magic's passing ability, high bball IQ, and flair but he dominates athletically like a young MJ.

I've always thought that as well. Even moreso than Kobe.

Wade's game reminds me of young MJ (pre 1st retirement). Kobe's game reminds me of post 1st retirement MJ, lost some explosiveness but is on another level mentally, a full arsenal of moves, and has transitioned into their best back to the basket player.

I don't think he's being compared to Jordan because his skills remind people of Jordan. That'd be way off because like other people have mentioned, his skills differ from Jordan's by a large measure.

However, Jordan changed the game. Teams didn't go up against the Bulls, they went up against Jordan and the Bulls. Teams don't go up against the Cavs, they go up against LeBron and the Cavs. Kobe and the Lakes. When those players are in the game, opponents consider them before anybody else.

LeBron is revolutionizing the game to a whole different level. Kobe, as great as he is, he's still just another guard that plays 10x better than most but what he does is nothing new.

i actually think the quote people use is" the most exciting player to come into the league since MJ. don't really think they are comparing the two.

like i said before, he brings the flare into the game that Mj did. he makes you want to watch a game to see what he will do next.

there can be no comparisons to jordan and bron. The only similarities are: their number and the fact that they where freakish athletes. Bron has no post game he has the size and strength of a PF but he has no moves there... he has lower basketball IQ than everybody is giving him credit for don't you ever use the name magic johnson in the same sentence with bron please there are no similarities either between them they are big for their position that's it bron will never ever much the standards of magic johnson no one ever will. This is the first year he started playing D not only one on one but help D as well he doesn't have killer instinct finishing games like kobe mello have he has to mature mentally. And most of all he has to be grittier and tougher he can settle with the praise of the media (king of what?) and develop to nothing.

I know this topic has been brought up alot but i just want to talk about it for just one more time. Is it because he wore the number 23 and because he said he idolize him. I just believe that the wrong comparison because their game styles are diff. But i think i found the best comparison to LBJ. Well its 2 players, Magic and Dominique Wilkens. I mean if the you mash these players together you get LBJ. He has the IQ and passing skills of magic, and the freakish atlethic ability of a dominque who was just a monster in the paint. I mean there is nothing wrong comparing him to jordan i just think Magic and wilkens is much better comparison.

Lebron isnt as athletic as Nique was...not in a basketball sense. Nique was an amazing two footed jumper who was far more athletic around the rim than Lebron. I see the Magic comparison though. Actually, I think it would be more accurate to say that Lebron is more of a combination of Magic and also a young Karl Malone. Malone had that freight train aspect to his game too, especially when he was younger. As he got older he was more of a crafty positional player but when he was younger he was very athletic. So, I would say its Magic+Karl Malone.

did you miss the entire 2008 season.....i think he has matured , and i think his basketball IQ is the best or second best in the nba.

i already think he is better than magic johnson in many areas. in fact he has matured and progressed at a much faster rate than most nba players in the first six years. the only thing the guy needs is a ring

LeBron has, maybe, the best basketball IQ of anyone I've ever seen. He knows what to be when his team needs it. If he needs to be a scorer, he'll score. If he needs to be the point man, he'll run the point. If he needs to be a dominating rebounder, he'll be a dominating rebounder.

I don't know anyone who is basketball smarter than LeBron. He's a coach in a freakish body, and that is the main reason he is so good.

Lebron is bigger, stronger, and faster than Nique ever was. Nique was very explosive but a 1 footed leaper is far more dangerous than a 2 footer jumper. It takes more time to go up on 2 allowing some defenders to catch up. Athletically Karl was never as gifted as Lebron. Yes he was strong but in the open court Lebron is unstoppable. All he needs is a half-step and it's a wrap. Those fast enough to keep up (Tony Parker, etc...) would be foolish because then his size/power takes over.

LeBron is the best player since Jordan, plays a similar position, is freakish athletically, and does everything on the court the way Jordan did. LeBron is actually a better rebounder and passer than MJ and a better player than Magic in almost every area.

I can definitely see why people compare the two, but I wouldn't. Their style of play is a lot different.
