It all depends. They have one of the best players in the NBA already, but they have a lot of work to do. It's all up to how smart the front office is. They could be a good team in two years flat. They could never become a good team, and end up losing Durant to free agency or forced trade.
A lot depends on Westbrook's development, and what they do with Jeff Green. Green is a very good player, and a piece that will fit nicely somewhere, but they have to be smart with him. I doubt they keep him, since he isn't a great compliment to Durant. They also have a very high draft pick this year.
This team is in transition right now. They aren't simply a bad team. They have talent that is growing, a coach situation to fix and a lot of pieces to work with. They have a very supportive market though, so we'll see. This will be a better question after this year, when they perhaps have more stability. -

Like born said, their front office is going to have to make some tough choices. KD is a max player and Westbrook looks to be a very good pro leaving Green as the odd man out. He's a complimentary player in every way but because he's on a bad team and putting up good #s someone will overpay for him. If their GM can surround KD will pieces here & there they have the potential to be a lower tier playoff team in 3-4 yrs.
That's best case scenario. Their nightmare is KD leaving. Then its back to square 1.Comment

I voted 3+ years, but assuming OKC keeps their young 3, and adds 3 more quality players [one being in this draft] I'll say 4 years.
In 4 years I'm assuming OKC will be in the thick of things. Not saying they will even make the Finals, but if you can say you're in the thick of things I'd consider them a contender. They should be at least top 4 by then.Comment

I really dont, I support all bad teams, and especially the fans of bad teams. OKC are one of only like 3 teams i watch on league pass during the season.
