Re: Turkoglu opting out of contract

He is Mr Everything to the Orlando Magic. He serves as their primary scorer and has had to facilitate the offense on many occasions. Additionally, he is dynamite in the clutch, can play good positional defense, and he is a solid rebounder as well. His main problem is that he is turnover prone.

If I had to rank him among small forwards I would rank him 6th behind Lebron James, Paul Pierce, Brandon Roy, Carmelo Anthony, and Caron Butler.

At 6'10 turk has serious game. He means more to orlando that he would mean in another place. In crunch time if he can't score they are in trouble. Plus I think some are discounting waay too much how good this guy is in the clutch.

Odom even at a cheaper price has never been known as a go to player. You can't just switch turk out for anyone and until Orlando can get another closer who can create his own shot they better keep him or hope dwight gets much better offensively over the summer.

Ariza's handle is way too sloppy to be a second level go to guy. He gets most of his work off others penetration. Have you seen some of the crap he throws up when you force him to put it on the floor and he can't get to the lane to dunk ?

I say the lake show should resign both Ariza and Odom if they are serious about a repeat or threepeet. Odom can't guard like ariza and ariza can't facilitate like odom and with them both they have weapons the opposition doesn't have. Ariza can't guard 4's and rebound like Odom and Odom can't lock up or bother 3's with the athleticism that Ariza has.

In response to the Gerald Wallace comparison, while he is a very good player and the best player on the Bocats, Turkoglu is the better player.

I have a pretty good handle on Wallace's game: He is a runner and a flyer which allows him to be a force and a terrific finisher in a broken field/fast break. His long arms and quick hands allow him to force many turnovers without gambling. However, unlike Turkoglu, he doesn't have a good jumpshot which means that he can't be very effective in a half court offense. Gerald also lacks the stop and pops, pull ups, and leaners that Hedo posesses. So, while both are very good, they are very different as well.

Shooting guard and currently a one dimensional shooting guard. Bright future though.

It doesn't matter if they 'look the part' or not. They spend time at different positions depending on what each individual game needs.

Durant spends more time at SF than Roy. It doesn't make sense to include Roy and not Durant. Your criteria was "spent time at SF". Durant fits that criteria. Besides, Durant's official position is SF. Roy's is SG.
