You cant say Kobe would be worse without Shaq just like you cant say he'd put up bigger numbers. We dont know until we see.

don`t you mean 'without' shaq kobe can`t score 50 points. or even 30 points for that matter. you see the defense has to pay so much attention to shaq that this allows kobe to get better looks and easier baskets... without shaq kobe would probly average about 20-22 PPG. no way would he EVER in life average 50 PPG!!!!! nope, it just wouldn`t happen!

            <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

werd. i used to hate shaq till kobe came along. i wish shaq would leave LA. anyone can confirm this story about shaq. i heard a long while back that he left orlando for the west so he can have a better chance with acting.

            <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

You just might have a point there. He won't play for anyone but LA. He'd rather retire then be traded.

damn im sick of this crap that says shaq is the reason why kobe scores.. thats totally inaccurate. do u see any lakers game. against minnesota kobe was doubled literrally every time. when kobe and shaq ran a pick and roll they would always double up kobe. garnett, ievrson, t-mac, and pierce never got doubled in their 1st round series. u see also that every play is run for t-mac, ai, etc. how many times do u see kobe come of picks like ai does and get wide open looks. he has to create his shots by himself. when kobe went of agaisnt houston for 52 without shaq they doubled him eevrytime and he still scored. he could be doing more if he had own his team built around him.

Hell everybody in the NBA is in Shaq's shadow cause he is so damn fat. I guarantee serious injury next year if he doesn't shape up this offseason.

That being said after the offensive output 9 40 point games numerous 30 point or more games if he doesn't win it this year he won't Win MVP with Shaq as a teammate. He will have to move on or Shaq retire if he wants MVP cause after a year like this (though there are other legitimate contenders KG Tmac Tim Big Fundamentals Duncan ) I can't really see him winning it with Shaq if he doesn't get it now. Playing with or coaching Dominate players might get u a ring and sometimes u don't get that (ask Stockton about playing with Malone) but u don't always get the respect you deserve

Is Kobe in Shaq's shadow?? IMO, yes he is. Think about it, what if Kobe never wins another title?? NBA Championships are tough to come by. He will always be mentioned as a great player, but people will say he had never won anything without Shaq, therefore, he won't be as good as Bird, MJ, etc. Playing with probaly the second most dominant player of all-time will do that to you. I think Kobe will be under Shaq's shadow quite a bit until he wins a title.
