why is everybody so high on jeff van gundy?

last time i checked he quit on his team after a 10-9 start. he's also the guy who has screwed up the new york knicks into the team they are today. i'm from houston and i hope the rockets don't choose this guy.

YEAH I KNOW ABOUT HIM TAKING A SUBAR TEAM WITHOUT THEIR BEST PLAYER (patrick ewing) so what, remember that's the eastern conference.

Was VanGundy the Knicks GM? If so then don't give him any front office power, but he's a good coach.

I thought he was a good coach, he took an 8th seed to the finals. I think he had to much stress on him that last year and had to leave.

He takes losing very hard and wears his emotions on his sleeve -- you never have to question what he's thinking or where he's coming from. He wants his team to play a particular style and with a lot of intensity. He may not have thought that was happening with this group."

BTW, did ayone see what Van Gundy looked like that season? He looked like he had been dead for three days! I knew that he would quit that season just by looking at him on the sidelines and in press conferences.
