Re: Mailman going to the Mavericks?

you can hate on Dallas all you want, but they will be among the elite teams for years to come. They have improved their regular season and playoff win totals in EACH of the last four years. What makes you think that that improvement trend will not continue? Dallas is young and they are just getting started. It doesnt matter if you respect them or not. They have earned plenty of respect for their play on the court.

This year Dallas tied for the most wins in the NBA and they advanced to the WCF. I think they are pretty close to putting it all together. Let me put it to you this way - Would you rather be in Dallas's situation or Sacramento's.

As far as Nellie is concerned, he has at least 3 or 4 good years left as coach and GM. Dallas will be prepared when Nellie leaves the NBA and Dallas, but until then, Dallas has one of the best coaches in the league.

The Mavs have one of the brightest presents and futures in the NBA. You have to put them in the top two, three, or four in the entire NBA. It would be hard to say that Sacramento is ranked higher than Dallas.

<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">Well TDB, I'm not convinced that we'll be a great team for years to come. Our "window" is not as open as it may seem. Nash will be 30 next year, Finley will be 31, Nic is already 31. We're not as young as people think. Another thing, Houston and Phoenix are both young teams on the rise. I say we have at the most, 2 more years at this thing.

The key to MAVS success in the next 3 to 5 years will be Nelson. He is the only one who can bring them to success in there current lineup. And no coach in the NBA can do what he can do to the MAVS current lineup.
In the next 3 to 4 years, SA's current rookies will be ready to face any team in the NBA. Manu, Jackson and Parker. And maybe another good player they could get to replace Robinson. And Duncan will still be Duncan.
And I think Nelson's hea;th is still questionable which might forced him to retire anytime soon.
