Bad players? Not all of them. Players that never lived up to the hype? Yep. Players that are all overpaid, and taken before players who are actually making an impact in todays NBA? Yep. Come on, he compared Melo ot Jordan, I think its alot more likely that Melo go the direction of Laettner than Jordan in his NBA carrer.

i can see if all of them just plaine sucked .. then and only then would that be a valid argument.. it is not theyre fault(d miles, penny, grant hill) that they got injured.. so how do they not live up to the hype?

By not producing. Sure you cant help injury, but just because you are injured doesnt mean you werent a bust. IMO eveyone on that list is a bust. Grant Hill gets paid the same amount of money as both T-Mac and Tim Duncan... Penny and Abdur Raheem get paid the same as Kobe .(more than the previously mentioned players) What a joke, regardless if its their fault or not.

When you come into the league with as much hype as those guys, and turn out to be nothing more than an average player, you are a bust.

I'm sorry if I hit a nerve or something sdrotar. I was just typing what I had heard from some nba sites and stuff. Didn't mean to upset you..

On the subject of SF's in Denver, I thought Tskitishvli was gonna be a 3, if not I'm sorry. My rational was that if they just spent a high draft pick on a 3 last year than they wouldn't spend another on a 3 this year if they were committed to the russian. If he is gonna go play 4, then that changes things. I know the Nuggets had Ryan Bowen at 3 last year as well, although I know he is not a true starter. I also thought that they had tried several others at SF including Rodney White and Vincent Yarborough, although I know Yarborough was really without a true position last year.

If they were to aqquire Maggette this offseason I believe he is better suited for the 3, then play White at the 2. In that scenario, I could see Denver trading the # 3 pick for a impact center if one was available, or a true point guard if available. Maybe I should have said that they have a log jam on players without a true position..maybe that would have been more accurate. Sorry again if I got you wound up. Not my intent.

Oh, no - you didn't. Sorry if it came off that way.

I've just been seeing understandable hype about Carmelo leading to some wacky assumptions on this board, and I wanted to try and clear things up if I could.
I'm in a convenient position for this topic - I live in metro Denver, and I've covered the NBA (and the Nuggets in particular) for some time, and I do still have some sources from which I can glean information.

Here it is in a nutshell. Tskitishvili's athleticism helps him more at PF than SF, because there's a lot of athletic SF's in the league. Of course, he could still be a colossal bust, too...
They want Juwan Howard back, but why would he return to Denver when the Pistons, Lakers, etc. may want him?

The spot is there for Anthony - and they will take him - unless they receive a crazy offer from someone. They would trade the #3 pick, but it wouldn't come cheaply to any team that wants it. It would require at least one or two young stars, and another lottery pick.

Basically, just because Vandeweghe hasn't come out and announced his pick two weeks before the draft doesn't mean he doesn't want Carmelo.
It means that he knows a lot of other clubs do too, and the Nuggets need so much help that they'd be stupid not to listen to offers - after all, it never hurts to listen...

I've just read all these crazy rumors on the board that have no basis in fact, and are purely wishful thinking.
The Nuggets know they hold the cards here - they have a player in their grasp who would go #1 overall most years, and there's no reason to lower his value by saying they won't trade it - even if they have no intention to.
