Brown and Jackson were together in Indy as well.

Hey, Brian: There was a story out last week that Stephen Jackson wants to be traded from Golden State and he listed the Cavs as one of his preferred destinations. Is there any chance the Cavs could pull off a trade for him? -- Robert, Pittsburgh
Hey, Robert: This is a train wreck just about everyone in the league saw coming, except apparently for the Warriors -- who against all logic gave an aging Jackson a three-year, $28 million contract extension last November just because he didn't feel like his current contract paid him enough. From the moment it was signed many in the league felt that deal would become an albatross in the future. Within weeks of praising the Warriors when he signed, he was butting heads with coach Don Nelson.
Due to the contract alone, it seems unlikely the Cavs would want Jackson and the four years left on his deal, even if he's a quality player. It is true that Mike Brown is close with Jackson and helped turn his career around when the two were together in Indiana. But Jackson's actions and behavior over the last few years have red-flagged him. I guess you never say never, but it doesn't seem to be a good fit.
