    Dream Team vs Redeem Team.

I was watch NBA TV today and they were showing Dream Team II basketball games. I got me thinking, Who would will in a 7-games series? The Dream Team or The Redeem Team? What you guys think?

The Redeem Team MIGHT be able to take a game.

Yeah, I agree that they may be able to take one game if that, and it would be because of a lack of focus from the dream team. The overall talent was too good (besides Christian Laettner) your talking about the majic, jordan, barkely, ewing, robinson, bird, stockton, malone etc... Just too much besides teh ovious superstars the redeem team had Michael Redd (nothing agaist him) hes not clyde drexler or mullin on a good day and tayshuan prince and boozer guys that are not even close to HOF status.

Should it be an instant ban for anyone not choosing the dream team ???
Honestly can we really take someone who chooses them seriously ???

The Dream Team is better, but that's mostly because the first team was always going to be the best.

If the 2008 team was the first professional Olympic team, it would have had Duncan, Amare, and Garnet instead of Boozer, Redd, and Prince.

I don't think it would be quite the blowouts some think, nor do I think the Dream Team would have dominated the competition quite as bad as they did if they played against 2008 competition, but they are the best sports team ever assembled.

                C. Laettner was a HOF technically right? College?? ESPN still hugs those nuts like he was every time that March atmosphere rolls around.

Was watching the Dream Team. One thing that people need to realize is that even though Michael Jordan was the most potent scorer on that team, he wasn't looking to score. Killing on boards, rebounds, steals, and blocks. If you watch the games, he seemed to never dominate the ball like he did for the Bulls which was amazing. It was like having so much great talent on your team that your top scorer didn't have to score. Redeem Team is a great team but their intellect in the game of ball would be their downfall. Both squads run. One squad had the brains over another.

Plus the Dream Team could hit the outside shot more consistently.

The Dream Team should be an easy choice. The scary thing is that most of the players were past their primes too. It is mind boggling to think of how they could have dominated even more if some of them were a bit younger.

With that said, don't underestimate the Redeem Team. They don't compare to the original Dream Team (c'mon, 11 hall of famers on that squad), but international play is also so much better over the last couple of years than it was back then.

I, like everyone else, was watching this stuff too over the past week. There are a few things that stick out:

Although now it is commonplace to say that most players were past their prime when this team was put together, it's not true. Look at the roster- MJ(28) and Pippen(26) were about to finish a 3peat, Drexler had just finished playing in his 2nd NBA finals and had yet to turn 30, Barkley(28) was about to begin his MVP season, Robinson was 26 and 2 seasons from his MVP, Ewing was not yet 30, Malone (28) and Stockton (30) just lost in the WCF, Magic turned 33 during the tournament, Larry was 35 but just finished averaging 20.2 pts, 9.6 reb, and 6.8 ast per game with .9 steals, Mullin was 28 and Laettner was consider one of the top College Players of all-time. (oh and because it is the basketball HOF, not the NBA HOF, I wouldn't be surprised if one day he was inducted...)

So really, this team was in it's prime and for that reason, the greatest collection of talent on one team at one time ever. Redeem Team would have no chance here, especially if DT played hard every game...

Dream Team wins this game by 10+. At least.

Everyone brings up Jordan as the x factor. Thing is, he wouldn't need to be.

I want you to imagine Robinson, Ewing, Malone & Barkley vs Howard, Boozer & Bosh. That front line would chew Howard & Boozer up & then use Bosh's twig legs as toothpicks.

dream team would win every day against the last us team. the competition was bigger back then in 1992 the talent of croatia and lithuania was overall better by any european team of nowdays in croatia you had cukoc with petrovic and radja and against lithuania you had sabonis & marcioulonis.

The 3 who voted redeem team were likely born in 1993.

Not even remoltely true. Internationally the competition has never been better. Agentina, Spain, France, etc... all have good NBA players.

The Dream Team I got really inflated victory margins because the competition flat out sucked. The only reason I would pick them is because of the size advantage up front.

Kobe, LBJ & Wade could do more than hang with MJ, Scottie & Clyde.
