    Possible Bulls-Knicks deal?

Looks like a deal is being discussed between the Bulls and Knicks where the Bulls will send Tyrus Thomas to the Knicks for Al Harrington. As a Bulls fan, I hope this deal goes through.

Yea, that's a very good deal. I mean Tyrus Thomas is good, but he's not playing on the level he could with his athleticism. So getting Al Harrington for Tyrus sounds good to me...

why in the world would the knicks make that deal, al harrington is easily the best scorer on the knicks, the only reason i can see the knicks making that deal is that they want john wall

I didnt say that the deal will go through or that it wont. I just said my opinion for how this trade looks in player's way...

Knicks can't get Wall anyway. They don't have a first rounder.

Hope this goes through. Harrington would be a good fit in Chicago. We need someone else who can score.

Call me sour but I don't want this to go through. I love Tyrus and his energy. I also think that Harrington would be coming off the bench so Taj could start which is an even worse move. I want Tyrus to stay. How many of you guys who are Bulls' fans think that they will land a "big" free agent??

Doesn't trading for Thomas blow up the Knicks' fantasy of getting LeBron and another big free agent? Or maybe they've come to the realization that LeBron isn't going to be a Knick?

LeBron will never come to Knicks. He'll sign with Cavs so as will Wade with Heat. Those rumors about LeBron going somewhere else or even him and Wade playing together are just ridiculous to me....

so now the trade makes even less sense, the only way im trading harrington is if they take curry or jefferies

Harrington may be the best scorer, but he definitely jacks the most shots out of everybody on the team. His defense is just average at best since he expends so much energy on offense. He has awful shot selection, can't block shots, and doesn't pass.

Mike D has been high on Thomas since 2006, wanting to move up and draft him. Honestly, Thomas is a better fit in NY. I think it's a good trade for both sides. We could use Thomas's energy, his shot blocking and rebounding since we lack all of the above.

And for the record, Thomas is on the last year of his contract too, but is a restricted free-agent. I think he could become a part of the Knicks future if he plays well.

                        Re: Possible Bulls-Knicks deal?

When I first saw this i was completely against it. Thomas is younger and plays defense. Al is basically nothing but a scorer who likes to shoot. He won't stop anybody from scoring and losing Thomas would take away our best shot blocker. We need a low psot scorer not a PF standing around dribbling and shooting threes. BUT after seeing that Thomas would be making 13 mil next year compared to AL's expiring contract I'm not that against it anymore. As much as I like Tyrus he is nowhere near worth 13 mil. That kind of money opening up could give us a chance at signing a big free agent.

So if they make the deal hopefuly he could give us a scoring boost and help us out and then maybe make a run at Bosh, Amare, or Wade. If that happens then I'm all for it. BUT if it turns out to be just a rental of Al and we end up with Gibson as our starting PF next year then I ain't feeling this too tough.

                          Deal is a wash.

Unless the Bulls or 3rd team take Jeffries/Curry, I don't give a crap about this.

Where do you see Thomas making 13M next year.

Knicks aren't taking on anything but 1 year deal players.

I believe we have a chance at a big free agent and a far better chance than the Knicks or Nets. Chicago is a major city and market so the big market thing is in our favor. We have a young centerpiece to go with any of them in Rose and the MJ factor could always play a role. You know most of thses guys dreamed of playing in a Bulls jersey when watching MJ as a kid. We where a playoff team last year and have a far better team than the Knicks or Nets so if winning is a factor they would look at us before the Knicks or Nets. Plus with the new lower cap that is expected the Nets and Knicks can pretty much forget signing two max players. They will only be able to get one. So unless those guys take a major paycut (which I highly doubt) they won't be able to pair up.

Eventhough I doubt he leaves Miami we have a far better chance to land Wade than the Knicks do. Chicago is his home. He would rather come home and play than go to the Knicks and pile up the losses.
