Better than what? Discussing a rumored trade that would greatly impact the current NBA season and the long awaited summer of 2010?

As stated in the NYP, it would be hard as hell to trade Bynum because he's a BYC; if the trade were to happen, it would be in the offseason. Personally think Bynum is a better fit on the Lakers. The Lakers biggest weaknesses include their bench and PG spot; this trade wouldn't help them much IMO.

But it was Vecsey who reported this, so it has no shot.

Yeah I agree that Bynum is a great fit in LA. He's more of a pure center but good lord, the idea of Bryant, Odom, Gasol, and Bosh all on one team is just crazy. In the very least, it would be like NBA 2k10 heaven lol. I would expect the Lakers to make some sort of move before the deadline, not necessarily a huge move like this, but one to add another big body to the bench perhaps, or maybe add one more PG to go along with Farmar and Fisher.

Considering the source (NY Post), I don't know what to make of these rumors. I think it could be a bit in the Lakers favor but, it the long run could help out the Raptors as well because they are unlikely to re-sign CB. So, I guess getting a legitimate C is better than getting nothing.

Why the hell would the Raptors trade their shot at the playoffs and resigning Bosh for damaged goods in Bynum.

It's not going to happen unless Jerry West becomes the GM of the Raptors.

I guess a lot of the talk around Chris Bosh will depend on what he is saying to Raptors managemet behind closed doors.

At this stage of his life + career...he has got to have some idea as to whether he intends to stay or leave come the end of the season.

If he's told them "look, I am going to leave..." then the Raptors basically have to move him and getting a young big like Bynumm wouldn't be a bad piece to pick up.

If he's told them "I like it here, i'll be staying"...then obviously stuff like this rumour would be BS.

So much depends on what Bosh is saying behind closed doors.

The Raptors simply cannot afford to lose him for nothing though.
