Dwight is suffering offensively without Turk IMO. Vince just doesn't create like Turk did for him.Comment

Re: 1/18-1/24 NBA Discussion
I just don't understand why Stan won't get on their asses for not feeding Dwight the ball enough. Their shot selection is ridiculous. They seemed a better organized team last year. A lot of it has to do with Turk being there. It's a shame because Dwight can really have games like the 1st half against Lakers.NBAComment

Re: 1/18-1/24 NBA Discussion
I really don't think this has to do with Turk. In the first 21 games, the Magic were 17-4. That's a whole quarter of a season. I'm sorry, but that is too big of a sample size to determine that the issue is Turkoglu. More likely, the problem is Rashard Lewis hasn't gotten back into the lineup the way he was supposed to, Jameer Nelson has been playing poorly since being injured, and SVG has not devised(and enforced) a gameplan that optimizes all of the parts that he has.
I'm sorry, but without Turk OR Carter, this team should be playing much better. They are loaded now. LOADED. Nelson, Barnes, Pietrus, Bass, Lewis, Anderson, Howard and Gortat should be a good enough lineup to compete for the best record in the league. Right now they're still playing that ridiculous outside-in game, when they have personnel that can do much more than that. The 3 ball should still be a major aspect of what they do, but they have too much talent not to be using post ups, penetrations and pick and rolls as other major parts of their arsenal.Comment

Maybe Shard fed off Turk too.
Whatever the case may be there's no question that they are underachieving at this moment.
I have a feeling they will get their act together when it counts.Comment

Re: 1/18-1/24 NBA Discussion
Turk averaged four assists, ya'll. It's not like Orlando ran the triangle out there either. Turk made plays, but he wasn't Steve Nash. Orlando is just playing poorly, starting at the PG and going on down from there.
I also have a feeling that they'll get it together. I think they are a young team with some midseason blues.Comment

Re: 1/18-1/24 NBA Discussion
Bottom line is they aren't hitting their open shots.
In a lot of games Howard dominates the first half. Second half the defense changes up and they usually bring two or even three on Howard. The defense just collapses on him and forces him to shoot a tough shot or kick out. Thing is on the kick outs the Magic aren't connecting.
As Born said, they are playing poorly from the PG down. Turnovers, poor rotations, and bad shooting. Still plenty of time to change it up.Comment

Re: 1/18-1/24 NBA Discussion
I still think the Hawks can beat the Magic in a 7 game series, and have a great chance of making the finals this year. They pushed Boston to the limit last year, Boston better hope they don't start looking old come playoff time or the young legs of Atlanta will push them to the limit again. Atlanta matches up very well with Orlando too. They will certainly make it interesting.
oh, and Charlotte is the next Detroit, in that they will quietly sneak up on the league with a roster of much improved but small-market names with incredible chemistry and defense, and in no time be one of the best teams in the East. That's what Larry Brown does and it's already moving full steam towards thatComment

Re: 1/18-1/24 NBA Discussion
The Magic are a terrible matchup for the Hawks. They mudstomp them every time they play. The Magic neutralize every single advantage that the Hawks have. Out of every team in the East, the Magic are the last team the Hawks want to see. If there is a way for Atlanta to beat Orlando, Mike Woodson and his crew sure as hell haven't figured it out.
Keep in mind: I really like Atlanta, and I watch them a lot.Comment
