your right it says i hate david robinson, the reasons are complex and would start a huge debate which would get this thread locked, so its not worth starting.

I think kids should look up to athletes for their performance in their respective sport, but look elsewhere for role models for everyday behavior.

And that's the parents' job to see that their kids look up to them and not someone they only know from watching TV or the movies, or listening to a CD. Too many parents nowadays allow others to influence their kids and then society wants to blame entertainers for being bad role models.

Look, I'm the biggest Michael Jordan fan in the world. I have all his videos, all his championships on tape, posters of his from when I was in middle and high school (I'm 30 now), and I still play as the Bulls championship-era teams when I get a new basketball game.

But, even I knew years ago that MJ was still human. He made/makes mistakes, on and off the court. I admired him for his leadership and skills on the court and how he conducted himself off the court in front of the camera. However, I knew that as big a fan as I am of his, I don't live with the man. I don't know him personally.

When the story about his infidelity broke last year, it didn't change the way I feel about him. My thoughts are, that's between him and his wife. We don't know what goes on in their home. For all we know, they could have been having problems in their marriage for years. It's none of our business.

Same thing with Kobe. We don't know what's going on. I hope that he didn't rape that girl, for his sake, his wife's sake, his family's sake, and the alleged victim and her family's sake.
