    Re: Dwight Howard

cant hide the fact he only gets 10 touches either man....You cant find a team in this league that wont give up multiple pieces take those clueless possesions of his.....especially resulting in a 18 and 11 average...if he was 32 maybe this a diff conversation...

      Re: Dwight Howard

The problem with howard is he lacks basketball athleticism. he is very athletic when it comes to jumping , but his coordination in respect to basketball moves is very lacking.
his left hand is horrible for the amount of time he has been in the nba. You look at a guy like lebron. he came in the league as a pure drive to the rim kind of guy. over his brief period in the NbA, he has become a very efficient outside shooter and assist man.

I have said this since last year, Howard is a good center, but he is not great........to think he is great is an over-rated statement.

hear is a thought . if howard got hurt were his movement was hindered via jumping, how good would you think he would be?

now put the same scenario to a guy like kobe or lebron. those guys would still dominate.( because they have "basketball skills)

for a big guy he is not even close to the kareem's or Wilts of the world

First of all, Howard is arguably the best center in the NBA. He's the best rebounder and defensive big-man in the league. Throw in 18 PPG and that makes Howard a great center.

Second of all, he's 24 years old and Kareem and Wilt are two of the greatest players to ever pick up a basketball. Saying he's not as good as Kareem and Wilt is a ridiculous thing to hate on him for.

          Re: Dwight Howard

Age can be taken into account to some extent, but shouldn't be overrated. A player should be evalutaed more based on how many years he's been in the league than his age. If a player went to the NBA right after high school, it means that he was ready, and it doesn't matter that he's still young. It's the experience that matters more, in my opinion.
Being old doesn't mean you can't get better, as you can see by looking at some past and present legends. But if Howard relys on his athleticism and doesn't develop real post game, he's not gonna be an offensive threat. From the games I've watched, he gets his points more off offensive rebounds and lack of defense by the opposing team, than by creating his own shots. If Howard keeps doing exactly what he does he'll be OK, but more of a legitimate centre with great rebounding and defensive skills, than a centre with a post game and offensive skills. Unless that's what the team needs, so lack of offense doesn't matter in this case.

And yeah, I got it, he scores 18.5 ppg "without offensive skills", I know. But the older he gets - it'll be harder for him to score the way he scores. That's why he needs more tools, and also getting stronger can't hurt.

so what he is 24............as he gets older his body will break down and he'll need some kind of move or moves to be legit.

keep making excuses for for him. I don't care........... kareem and Wilt were established from day one in thier careers." they had basketball moves!!"

as far as the best center in the Nba.... that is the one area this league lacks the most talent. so in retrospect ....that isn't saying much.

on a side note.......when he and shaq match up....shaq gets so inside howards head that it is funny.....Howard gets man handled by an old man.
that is why he is not great yet....... he cant beat the ones who were great before him

being 24 isnt an excuse, its a fact lol.....its said players dont even reach their peak until late 20's anyway...if his bodys breaking down already he needs a nutrishinist not post moves. If your not fond of him, cool....hey, im not his biggest fan....but hes a young talented center who has reached his peak yet...ill take him over 90% of any of the other centers in the league.

yeah he is pretty dumb. u have arguably the best center in the NBA and u choose to shoot 3's??? instead of giving him the ball first and then him kicking it back out for an open 3. smh

Which, again, isn't saying much since there damn near aren't any centers in the league. Really makes you appreciate the league back in the early '90s when there was The Dream, Robinson, Ewing with young pups in Shaq, 'Zo and Mutombo.

But the Lakers shown the Dwight isn't good at backing down his man and throwing it to the open man. And when he backed down to take a shot, he sucked. Pau Gasol's soft *** could even guard him.

I'd take Howard on my team without hesitation, but until he can figure out an adequate post game, he will never be the #1 option and maybe not even #2. He's like a super Mutombo.

well here here is a scenerio for you son. what would howard do if he broke a finger in his right hand Lol.... the guy would have to go left.............

these are the facts of his game.
                            1. he has no or limited post moves

                            2. he doesn't use his left hand effectivley

                            3. compare him to the rest of the NBa, not the centers in the game ( lack of talent in that position across the board)

                            4. the issues he had when he first came in the league are still lingering today( very slow progression)

I keep looking at Kg of the celtics and how he has gotten beat up and injured....the guy can still ball because of his basketball skills.........i'll say it again.........when that bridge approaches for howard and his game has not progressed , you will see him truly exposed

Take away Shaqs stregth, he still the most dominant big man ever? We can do "what ifs" all day. These arent some kind of special abilities they obtained like an RPG, its their god given talent....thats what they use to be effective...And im not saying he doesnt need to sure up his game alot, but hes not as bad as some are claiming.

And you need to share all this in depth Wilt footage with us.....not just with us, the NBA as a matter of fact..
