Of course there was. From the get go Manu looked old and hurt, Parker looked way out of step and RJ looked a mess. I don't think all of those are fixed yet and even though there is hope, it doesn't look great for years to come.

Duncan is losing his dominance much sooner than Robinson did, Manu isn't getting any younger and they still have RJ and a bunch of role players lucky to be in the NBA.

Also, that Manu block was awesome. I used to love KG but his tough guy act has worn thin... pretty funny to see a guard take him out cleanly like that. Manu is going crazy lately... the Spurs, Mavs, and Jazz all have me a little worried.

IMO, he was fouled by Hill. He got his arm, which may or may not have left him wide open for Manu to come in for the block.

Anyways, on a side note, what's been going on with the Nuggets lately Stumble?

No K-Mart, no George Karl. That's about it really.

They ran a short rotation all season and with Lawson and K-Mart being out for a while, it's taken a toll on the other main rotation players. Chauncey looks really tired and has been shooting terribly lately, just chucking up garbage shot after garbage shot. Melo is still a workhorse, but he's taking a beating playing shifts at PF while K-Mart is out. He's ballin though.

Adrian Dantley isn't an NBA coach at this point.. he looks lost out there a lot of the time... he had 2 timeouts leftover in recent close games.. stuff like that. It's basically a team coaching job right now + Chauncey as the floor general. Without a clear direction and George constantly reminding them to go to the rim as the #1 option and play defense, they've gotten a little lazy lately in those aspects.

Honestly though, they would've won several of the games they lost if K-Mart were playing. Petro has played capably and should've been getting minutes all season, but there's a huge defensive hole without K-Mart there, since he's basically the "linebacker" and runs the defensive schemes on the fly. Plus his man defense is as good as anyone in the leage at the 4 spot, and we've sorely missed his versatility there... Malik Allen actually plays solid D, but he's just not athletic at all and can't help us against the modern mobile PF.

So yeah, I hope K-Mart comes back a game or two before the playoffs so they can get some rhythm established. I'm not holding out much hope for George coming back at this point.. he recently had surgery for blood clots also, so he's having a really rough time. He really should just say he's out for the rest of the season so the team can quasi move on and he can focus on his health.

But at this point, I'm expecting a 4 seed and a battle to the death against the Spurs or Jazz in the first round. I think the Nugs can win if K-Mart comes back and they play like they normally do, but it'll be WAY tougher without George on the bench, especially against a veteran coach like Sloan/Pop. I'm predicting a 2nd round exit unless both George and K-Mart come back, in which case I think they can still beat anyone and everyone.

23, 7, and 8 assists. Thanks for coming, Nuggets.
