I'm sorry but IMO David Lee is the most underrated player of of all time, yes all time. this guy puts up numbers that other well know players wish they could put up on a daily bases.




Attention Donnie Walsh, if you let Lee go, just fire yourself, If I'm Walsh I build around Lee, this kid a class act and a real baller. Who cares about Lebron, you can spend good money with other players to build around Lee.

Not sure about building around Lee. He's a very good/solid player and all, but making him the focal point/cornerstone is a bit much imo.

Well, he's the only Knick worth something and he continues to get treated like a bench player who got lucky to play basketball.

I know people tried to point to D'Antoni's offense being a reason Lee generated points, but it's definitely not the case this season. Lee has added a deep jumper and he's consistent with it.

It's tough to consider him a guy you build your team around, however. There are basically three types of players you build a team around (in league history): The defensive slashing 2 or 3 that can shoot the jumper and drive to the basket; the defensive point guard that can penetrate to the basket and makes his teammates look like All-Stars; the defensive 5 or 4 that score at will inside, grabs rebounds and can make the outlet pass.

I don't think a team has ever built around a player like Lee. He isn't any of the above, though he is closets to that third description. He's just not the kind of guy that you see in that role. He's mostly a second or third option on a team with one of those guys.

So, maybe instead of building around Lee, they just need to build with Lee. The Knicks letting Lee run away would be a big mistake.

The Knicks definitely need to keep him if financially possible, but to turn down LeBron/Wade/Bosh to keep him would be suicide for the organization.

If he steps up his game defensively, then I think he would definitely be worth around 9 million. NO WAY is he worth a max contract or anything like that, as mentioned above, he's just not the type of player you build around.

He's a good player, but he's not great. It's easy to rack up points on a horrible team. He doesn't have the nickname Dave the Doorman for nothing. He is literally one of the worst defensive players in the NBA. and don't give me that he's guarding centers all the time. He has never guarded the paint in his life.

He's just getting his right now, working for a contract. Doing nothing to make his team any better. Just jacking up shots.

If this team is built around David Lee, haha. We are screwed for at least 10 more years.

Agreed on this one. If they can bring in that combination, you let anyone on that roster walk away.

I have a tough time believing they'll land that trio, though, so losing Lee in the process would be a mistake.

I'm sure someone out there is already calling him Avid Lee and that's fine because he does need to work on his D, but every team would be lucky to grab a guy that can put up 15-10 every night.

I liked David Lee a year ago because his game was more likeable. Get his nose dirty, offensive rebounds, and the occasional 15 footer. Now he's never underneath the basket, he's pretty much always at 15. He's playing for a contract, that's all that matters to him. Getting his numbers.

Good for him. What else does he have to play for? The team that's been a perennial loser his whole career? The amount of development he's shown over the years is absolutely great, but the team still sucks.

Can only look in the mirror. If he actually tried a bit on teh defensive end, he'd be a lot more respected. He is literally that bad and if you don't watch Knicks games, every single one like I do, you won't know.
