Vasquez is an odd guy to judge because he's decent at everything but great at nothing.

However, because he has decent size and always gives maximum effort, I could see him being successful in the league eventually. Not necessarily a starter, but a 7 point 3 rebound 3 assist type of guy off the bench. I'd be happy if we took him with one of our late picks.

I don't see why he couldn't. He's going to get a chance at some point.

He's a multi talented guy unfortunately he's not great at any one thing.

I wouldn't mind having him on the Lakers

I could see him playing that big PG in Phil's offense but defensively I don't think he can stay with too many PGs. He has the size to guard the 2 but you're still gonna need someone to check the PG.

I'm hoping the Spurs take a look at him as his defense needs some serious work, even though it improved some this past season.

              Re: 2010 NBA Draft Thread.

Although I think this is a solid draft with some depth, I think there's only four guys in this draft who could turn into potential "superstars": Wall, Turner, Cousins, and maybe Greg Monroe.

Count me as a Favors doubter. I don't see what the big deal is about this kid. They list him at 6'10 but he looks more like 6-8. May end up proving me wrong but I think the poster that compared him to Stromile Strift is the best comparison I've heard in a while.

I know one thing - I wouldn't want to be outside the Top 5 this year! Who do you pick and feel good about? Even with Favors, you can live with the decision because of the the size and the fact that he was hyped a lot coming up through the AAU ranks. I think a lot of it will be based on need. I could see someone like Aldrich or Ed Davis going #6 or possibly falling into the teens. The fact that Daniel Orton is being talked about as a Top 10 pick blows my mind...I think it's a preview of a crazy Draft night to come!!!

                Re: 2010 NBA Draft Thread.

theres gonna be a lotta drama in this years draft!

it all starts with the lottery in a few weeks. utah has the knicks first round pick (unprotected) and if they were to win it all hell could break loose. would they use the pick to beef up the front court or trade it for some vets with deron at the point?

i have a good feeling my timberpuppies are gonna trade at least one of our first rounders and or any of our second round picks.

if we cant get turner or wes then its gonna get iffy.

aminu would be a logical choice, though aminu cant create his own shot let alone shoot well enough to play to the 3 so hes another athletic 4 for now. i hope we will trade down to get anderson or henry.

overall a lot trading is going to happen after the title is won. i dont see any mock being half as close leading up to the draft in recent years, unless all of the major trades regarding picks are dealt beforehand.

here are the teams with multiple picks in the 1st round

                timberpuppies - 3
                grizzlies - 3
                thunder - 2
                nets - 2
                wizards - 2

teams that dont have a 1st round pick

bobcats - no picks at all
nuggets - no picks at all
                suns - 1 in 2nd round
                lakers - 2 in 2nd round
                mavericks - 2 in 2nd round
                knicks - 2 in 2nd round
                Vikings - Twins - Twolves - Wild | Giants - A's - Warriors

The Knicks will end up with a first rounder I'm sure this year. We'll probably look to buy one, Atlanta might sell theres depending on how bad they want JJ back and I think we could buy one from Memphis too.

If the Grizz draft wisely and get some luck in the lottery (and resign Rudy) they could be pretty damn good next year. 3 first rounders on top of their current crop of young talent should give them heaps of good pieces going forward. They'll still be very young and inexperienced but they'll be even more fun to watch.

                          I'd pick Turner.

If I were Minny and I win the lottery I might trade down. I don't think it's a given that Wall will be better than Flynn long term. I have mixed feelings about Turner, not sure I'd take him #1.

we would most likely take wall and trade sessions along with some picks

thats true theres no given that wall will be better than flynn, though wall has more potential solely on physical gifts. the biggest difference between the 2 is on the defensive end. wall can be a great perimeter defender with his size if hes willing to commit himself in doing so. flynn being at 6'0" struggled against bigger guards as they often backed him down to the paint.

drafting turner would be a good fit not a great fit for us. both flynn and turner are scorers that love attacking the rim in which shrinks the court, and less room for big al. what we need is a legit SG that can keep the court stretched in the triangle.

i would love to see us trade down and get cole since we need a defensive center and use our 2nd pick to trade up and get anderson or henry.

if we plan on keeping brewer at SG then we will trade down to get wes and use the 2nd pick to trade up and get cole. if we cant get cole than we will most likely gamble on whiteside, sanders or alabi.
