Re: 2010 NBA Draft Thread.
Nets hold all the cards in this draft! The Johnson/Boozer theory makes a lot of sense, especially considering it appears the Douglas-Roberts deal is finalized. Nets would be a playoff team if they could trot out a starting lineup of Harris/Lee/Johnson/Boozer/Lopez. Remember, Johnson is like 23 years old so I don't really consider him a "true" rookie. He'll be able to step right in immediately....if I were a betting man I'd say Johnson is going to be the pick. Drafting Favors would make no sense if they plan on courting Boozer. Plus, Favors is still a work in progress - the sense I'm getting from the new owner is that he wants to win now."He who controlleths the backboard, controlleths the game." - Adolph RuppComment

Harris/Lee/Johnson/Boozer/Lopez
Williams/Yi
No defense FTL
But hell, if that's the best they can do, I can't hate on that lineup. They should be able to win some games and hopefully Johnson turns into a decent defender.Comment

Re: 2010 NBA Draft Thread.
I meant in terms of on the court skills. If you factor in on & off the court then yeah, I'd agree that Cousins could eat his way outta the league.Comment

Re: 2010 NBA Draft Thread.
Bottom line: the kid was a First team AP All American as a freshman. He averaged 15 and 10 in 22 minutes a game. Think about that for a second - how many college stars average a double-double for an entire season? And it's not like he was playing against the Montana Techs and New Hampshire States of the world - he did it against top caliber competition. Is he a little immature? Absolutely. Will he need to have a good support system? Yes. However, if somebody as nutty as Ron Artest can succeed in the NBA for 10+ years, so can DeMarcus Cousins. I'm not saying he's the second coming of Shaq, but I have a feeling the GM's that pass on him (I'm looking at you Philly and Minnesota) are going to regret not drafting him. I have seen a lot of players pass through Rupp Arena since 1987 and this kid is the real deal. I will be shocked if he does not succeed."He who controlleths the backboard, controlleths the game." - Adolph RuppComment

Re: 2010 NBA Draft Thread.
Cousins may find himself in a fight on the court one day, but most are giving him an undeserved Rep. He is a GREAT kid off the court and will have the fans loving him. He Will be a fan favorite to go along wig multiple all star games.#WeAreUKComment

Re: 2010 NBA Draft Thread.
Three questions I have most about Cousins, or about any professional basketball player:
1. How much does he love the game
2. Does he respect the game
3. How great does he want to beComment

Re: 2010 NBA Draft Thread.
Both Cousins and Favors have major red flags IMO but I'm still taking a chance on Cousins over Favors.
I just feel bad for whatever team signs Cousins to a big deal after his rookie one expires, and then he stops trying completely."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
