Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread

The national media is all about the Super 3 in Miami. They still are on the "Cleveland or Miami" kick now that the "Cleveland or Chicago" angle is all but dead.

Is there some truth to it or one last ditch effort in the "Anywhere But NY" campaign?

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread

Ok so this sounds like a 4 team race now...

The Heat got Wade and Bosh and if they move Beasley they can sign LBJ. The super team could be formed. That has to be tough to turn down!

The Cavs is his hometown! He is an Akron hero, and if he does this he could possibly become a villain there. Cleveland would just have another heart break. Also, if he was signing with Cleveland wouldn't he just have a press conference in Akron.

The Knicks got Stat, and LeBron is doing his press conference near the Knick's airport and where most of their fans are.. Also, a lot of sources of NBA players are saying he's going there, plus the Nike witness thing is interesting, but if Nike actually knew I bet an NBA source would know.

The whole thing about Jay-Z having a house in Greenwhich is very very interesting.

Man, while this is interesting, I really don't like LeBron after this. Just make a decision, don't agree to do a 1 hour special on ESPN. Ridiculous, I've never seen anything like this. I've lost a lot of respect for him.
I will always, always be a Jets fan. But trust me it hurts.

Kobe had three rings before he REALLY was respected as a champion. In order to be a mega worldwide superstar like MJ was and like Kobe is, Lebron knows that winning a championship with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh isn't gonna get it done. He will be seen as weak and needing other All-Star caliber players to win.

BTW, Bosh, Wade, and James in Miami is destined to end up bad. If they don't win eventually, lord help them. If they win, egos start to take over when they have to share the glory and the spotlight. Maybe not Chris Bosh but Lebron James and Dwayne Wade are Type A personalities and this whole fiasco has shown that Wade may have a bigger ego than Lebron's.
That's Bull****, because it's been proven that A- Class guys can get together to achieve something like winning a Championship. Did Boston NOT just do that? Granted they were older guys, but even the Lakers did virtually the same.

And Lebron winning with a good team demeans his success? How about not winning at all, despite everything around him? He CAN'T do it by himself, and it's been proven. The man needs help, and a 40 year old Shaq couldn't do it; 3 point shooters couldn't do it; a washed up power forward that's only good for 10-15 points a night couldn't do it; So get the man some help. Don't act like having a good team makes him less of a player. Does that make Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett lesser players? No.
And look at it. Kobe did the exact same thing. Without Shaq, he couldn't do it all. They pick up A - Class talent in Gasol, and Bam, he's back at the top. Jordan didn't do it on his own. Kobe didn't do it on his own. Lebron CAN'T do it on his own. Good players is what he needs. Point. Blank. Period.

Some more "news"

Member Of Bulls' Front Office Sees LeBron Signing With Knicks

Jon Rothstein received a text from a member of the Bulls' front office who believes that LeBron James will sign with the Knicks.

Chicago is turning its attention to Carlos Boozer.

Market Bets LeBron Will Be A Knick?

As the media world speculates on where LeBron James will land, the market, at least, seems to be leaning towards the New York Knicks.

As of 2:45 p.m., shares of Madison Square Garden Inc., which includes the Knicks and the MSG Network, were up 1.21 percent to $20.51, but the bigger story was in the options pits.

There’s been twice as many contracts sold to people betting that MSG stock will rise to $22.50 by the end of the month as compared to people betting it will fall to $20 by July’s end. (Follow MSG here)

“There’s absolutely no justification for this activity other than the LeBron James play,” said Jon Najarian, co-founder of Trade Monster and a CNBC contributor. “People will most likely continue to speculate into tomorrow’s announcement.”

The story is not only seen in the ratio of bulls to bears, it’s also seen in the volatility of the call and put contracts. On an average day, about 600 calls and puts are traded on MSG [MSG 21.57 1.30 (+6.41%) ]. More than 10,000 calls and puts have been traded today.

Volatility is also brisk on shares of the stock itself. MSG stock typically trades about 200,000 shares a day. By 2:45 p.m. ET, almost 582,000 shares had been traded.

No one is saying to do it on his own, but hooking up with other MVP candidates diminishes your contributions. Pau Gasol is not an A-Class talent. Before he joined the Lakers, he was ranked somewhere between 7 and 9th amongst power forwards.

And I don't know where you get it that Jamison is washed up. He averaged 20ppg before joining the Cavs. He just never meshed(or had the time to mesh) with the Cavs. I've been saying it for a while though, people don't just automatically get better playing with Lebron. You've gotta coach him and them to make that happen. The instinct of playing with Lebron is much like many great players: stand around and watch them, wait for an open shot or dunk.

By who? Anybody who is a real fan of the game knew Gasol was a top 20 player in the league. When he was traded even back before they won the title's(God I hate the Lakers) basketball people was calling it the biggest steal in the history of the league.
