The reasons are simple. He wants to WIN. He Has to WIN. And right now, out of all the teams (Miami, Chicago, New York), Miami is the hands down best choice.

If he DOESN'T go to Miami, then no, Miami is not the best in the East, BUT if he does, then they are hands down favorites. Because similar to Chicago which is the next best choice, Miami is young with good role players, good defensively, and really just lacks a second or third option for offense on nights to help out D-Wade. Chicago and Miami are similiar in build and players, but in comparison, Miami is superior. Wade over Rose, Bosh over Noah. Granted, Deng is better than both O'neal and Beasley, but the drop off after that is alarming. Miami doesn't have the greatest Depth, but with Lebron they become the BEST in the East (Yes, Over Orlando. Yes, Over Boston), while New York? Chicago? Only become a top 3 contender.

If you're Lebron, you know where ever you go you have to win immediately. In the West, nobody's taking out LA this season. Not Dallas (Unless Mark Cuban pulls out the pixi dust to Lebron) , Not Pheonix, Not Denver, Not San Antonio, Portland, OKC.. None of 'em. And so to make in the West to even have a chance, he'd have to play for the Lakers, which isn't happening. So the Clippers? Never even had a chance.

So looking at it from the East's stand point, since Boston and Orlando are the top dogs and you're not getting a shot at going to them, Lebron, who's the best fit to make that jump? And the answer is clear with Miami. The Chemistry barrier is the shortest, having played with D-Wade and Bosh Together already. The Team has consistently made it to the playoffs each year. They even won a title not too long ago. Chicago is young, maybe a bit too young to compete right away even with Lebron. New York is the 3rd best, just because of Amare, but is that situation gonna be any better than Cleveland? Is New York really an upgrade, talent-wise over Cleveland? I mean really.

So the choice is obvious, and Lebron SHOULD go to Miami if winning is his priority. If it's not, then we could see him being scrutinize for then next few years in one biggest and harshest cities in the world.
When you're a once in a generation talent like MJ, like Kobe, like Lebron, winning isn't enough. You're not viewed as a winner unless you're the man. Kobe had three rings before he REALLY was respected as a champion. In order to be a mega worldwide superstar like MJ was and like Kobe is, Lebron knows that winning a championship with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh isn't gonna get it done. He will be seen as weak and needing other All-Star caliber players to win.

BTW, Bosh, Wade, and James in Miami is destined to end up bad. If they don't win eventually, lord help them. If they win, egos start to take over when they have to share the glory and the spotlight. Maybe not Chris Bosh but Lebron James and Dwayne Wade are Type A personalities and this whole fiasco has shown that Wade may have a bigger ego than Lebron's.

Not really speaking on this because I'm a Bulls fan BUT why do I think that Chicago is not out of this yet? With all the attention being diverted to New York and some to Cleveland and Miami, I just got this feeling that it's being done purposely. As a bulls fan, I hope it's true. Realistically, it's probably not going to happen.

Wasn't just him, but this is the reason why no matter what, I can't watch the team.

I don't know, it seems weird that he would do that to the Knicks since no one outside of NY has given them a chance (and even most NY media people didn't think there was a chance). Even still, half the media outlets don't think the Knicks have any chance. Even Woj's latest article this morning didn't even mention the Knicks as a possibility. People talked about how it would be a slap in the face to the Cavs to announce in Ohio that he was leaving. This would also be a slap in the face to the Knicks, though obviously at a much lower level. "I'm going to come in to your backyard, tease you, and then not come here." I don't know, LBJ is the biggest attention whore I've ever seen but that seems like a bit much, even for him.

For the first time I'm acting a fool and believing that he comes to the Knicks. I think it came down to Bosh. If the Cavs could get Bosh, he stayed. If they couldn't, he left. The math adds up, yesterday Bosh says he won't go to Cleveland and later in the day LeBron gives the date/time for announcing his decision.

A Boys & Girls Club in Greenwich is practically an oxymoron btw. I'm amazed there's even one there, didn't think anyone would skip out on their country club membership to go there.

I would still rather have Carmelo, I think he would be able to take the Knicks further. It is far from certain that Lebron will be a knick, though. I guess you all will find out tomorrow night.
I'm curious how you can criticize Lebron but say that you would rather have Carmelo. Where has he taken the Nuggets?

Lol I was thinking the same thing. The words "Boys & Girls Club in Greenwich, CT" threw me for a loop.

I really do wish you were right, cause I'd love to hop all over that notion. But sadly Ron Mercer's ghost and the free agency class of 2000 rears they're ugly heads once again for the Bulls and what pisses me off about this is having to see Stephen A Smith possibly be right about something, or P2K who'll take what happens as his chance to gloat about being right when he was only just hating on the Bulls as a reason to say what he was saying.

Not yet. The conspiracy theory in their favor says that:

                          A. Jay-Z has concerts Wednesday and Friday but not tomorrow.
                          B. Prokhorov and Jay-Z are coming into the USA tomorrow.
                          C. Jay-Z owns a house in Greenwich, where the thing is apparently being held.

I don't know how much of this is true or what to believe, but don't give up hope. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if the Clippers were the choice.
