Yeah you cant please so people. Just this post season LeBron went from the G.O.A.T. to being behind Kobe because his team sucks. If Bosh would have came to Cleveland and he left I would understand the hate ,but looking at the Cavs roster people really expect him to win? C'mon man!

Are Cleveland fans a bit selfish? Perhaps, but knowing the history of Cleveland sports it's not totally irrational of them. They've seen bitter disappointment after bitter disappointment. Why can't they demand to have arguably the best player in the league for years to come?
I don't think people would be so up in arms if this was done more quietly and less blatant.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
Anyways I want to say something that's been on my mind all day today and it may be irrational to some but damnit i'm a bit pissed off. If the Miami rumor is true then I think Lebron, Bosh and to a lesser extent Wade have screwed the pooch for everyone else. What they've done is tantamount to collusion except it's on the player's side. If i'm an owner or in management I see this and i'm extremely ticked off. It's one thing to do this quietly and you can kinda tell they planned it but to be so blatant about it is a slap in the face to the credibility and the process of the league and free agency. The stories of Bosh running around with a camera crew to visit teams for negotiations reek of "look at me look at me!" that it makes me sick to my stomach. Lebron is looking like a guy who is damning everything in order to get a ring when he's still young enough that he can lead a team to a championship with help right where he is. I mean it's not like the ownership in Cleveland isn't willing to win at all costs. Wade by comparison is looking like a saint by keeping his mouth shut for the most part.
The worst part of all this is that free agency in every sport has some give and take in that it's not ALL in the player's favor as management can honestly make pitches and have an honest shot at getting a superstar. Not so in this case where we've gotten "summits" and these guys totally calling the shots as if they own the world.
In short, this kind of crap would push me to want to install an NFL style salary cap with as few loopholes as possible not just for the parity reasons I like to trot out but also to bring some fairness to a process that has become almost unbearable in that respect in the NBA. I can guarantee there will be a significant work stoppage when the CBA is up and while they won't say it, the shenanigans of the "Big Three" may play a big role in the resolve of ownership to carry through with their threats.
What rules could they change? Not allowing players to communicate during free agency?
This was a fluky year due to so many players becoming free agents, but everyone knew it was going to happen.Comment

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
It's not that simple though, Cleveland has had a couple good seasons in the last 3-4 years. They just haven't produced in the postseason. It's not like they were teams just scraping by to get to the playoffs. Ownership has been bending towards Lebron's wants and needs for years as well. So it's not like they haven't done ANYTHING for him.

And the Cavs success is directly tied to LeBron's greatest not front office moves. And you will see this 1st hand if LeBron leaves. No one player has meant as much to his team as James. You looking at the Chair MAN!

Given Lebron choked away games 4-6 of the conf. semis his job in CLE is not over yet. All the reg. season shenanigans that resulted in nothing tangible is fodder at this point. His legacy would be best served by being the first star and hometown hero who brought the first chip to Cleveland sports in DECADES.

I feel it is LeBron's best interest not to make his entire hometown hate him...and he did exactly that with this whole hour long special. If he would have just released it, a lot of the Cleveland fans would have been fine, but making us a fool on National TV is THE DAGGER.Too Old To Game Club
