We could use a more diverse group of women around here. But COME ON ITS FREAKIN LBJ - He can import them.

I apologize for taking this so far off topic, but I'll leave it at this: Next time I'm in Chi-town, I'm taking pictures of the overwhelming number of wildebeasts and poo-putts littering the streets of the Windy City. Not going to bother defending NY or West LA, because people who've been to both towns know what's up.

Forbes article on why LeBron would go to NY speaking more on the financial side of things:

A year ago I wrote that the sale of 15% of the Cleveland Cavaliers and operating rights to Quicken Loans Arena to Chinese investors meant LeBron James would bolt Cleveland when he became a free agent. Now I am telling you next season LeBron will be playing for the New York Knicks because this January they became the only franchise that can use their stock as currency.

They cannot pay James with MSG stock because it would violate the league's collective bargaining agreement. But there is nothing to stop James from buying shares of MSG with his money. This would allow James to in essence work for himself and capture the upside in revenue from higher ratings on the MSG RSN, a soon-to-be renovated Madison Square Garden and much higher profits he will bring to these platforms.

just wondering, are you really a Knicks fan? It seems you are negative to all things Knicks so i'm just wondering since you're from Queens.

interesting concept. The attention he would get in NY would be greater than anywhere else. People may disagree with that but those same people that disagree are the same ones that get annoyed with how much the media overhypes or talks about New York. If he brought the Knicks to being a title contender then the city would be electric during basketball season, the Garden would be rocking, the celebs would be out in full force, the media would be all over them.

                        And this idiot's reasoning?

Even more important for New York Knick or New Jersey Net fans, it tells me that majority owner Dan Gilbert knows he will not have LeBron to count on to sell suites and sponsorships for too much longer.

                          That's a pretty interesting angle.

The media hypes up all things Lebron James. Just like the idea that he'd have more business opportunities, the idea about media hype is true for more mid level players or young stars on the way up. I agree that he'd bring more attention to the city, the stars would be out in full force etc. That alone is enough to make the stocks idea very interesting.

I don't see either of those as downsides.
I assume he's got the competitive fire and would LOVE to play Kobe 4 times a year, see him in the conf. finals for even more. Go in and take over. Then there's the whole story about how he leads "the lowly Clippers" all the way to the NBA finals.

Surprised nobody's heard/read this yet. This guy, Darren Rovell was on ESPN 980 here discussing this:

                              http://www.cnbc.com/id/37108014/LeBr...er_To_New_York

Basically what that article states is the obvious....which is he's going to have to win Title(S) to become that "Global Icon" that Kobe is today.
