What did people really expect? A mute person doesn't require an hour to announce a decision.
You don't need a show PERIOD to announce where you are going LOL.

It's one thing if you're announcing your retirement but to have a television show and then use the bull**** "We're donating the proceeds of this to the Boys and Girls Club"(which they probably thought would lessen the amount of heat they knew they were going to take)just to say where you are going? That ain't no win-win for nobody.

There's no excuse for that period no matter if you didn't have the chance to be recruited for College, never enjoyed Christmas or whatever.

Basketball being relevant in July? What the **** does it need to be relevant in July of all months for? Ain't like they were playing any games or anything or didn't make people all of a sudden start following basketball religiously for the entire month. The only thing that kept basketball relevant in July was July 8th and even once NFL Training Camps got started that pushed Basketball to the backburner, where it belongs during that time of the year.

But no....LeBron is too important to be involved in that, right?

So much for him being all about the team. He screwed that up months ago.
This, and someone wrote in one of the articles about The Decision that barely any of the money went to the Boys and Girls Club, but who knows if that's true.

Were you negatively effected by the whole thing?

Ofcourse he didnt need to do it ,but he did and millions of people watched. Had he made the decision people wanted him to make we wouldnt be having this discussion. He didnt now everybody who didnt like his choice is finding all kind of reason not to like him anymore. Some how he is the worst person because he held an unnecessary press-conference.

And this has to do with what again?

Had he made the decision people wanted him to make we wouldnt be having this discussion.
No. Had he made the decision without all the nonsense we wouldn't be having this discussion. Hell, before he had the stupid show it was already reported by Screamin' A that he already made his Decision and that he was going to Miami so what purpose would doing the show make if folks already knew where he was going?

ESPN's going to have a 'Heat Index' to cover the team the entire season.

Now that's ridiculous. I just want to watch them play, all that other stuff is overkill.
"Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."

As a long time basketball fan, but watching less frequently the past few years, I believe this is good for the sport. Regardless of which side you're on, the point is it will create sides. Sides that will talk about this nonstop (like this forum apparently has, like every forum I've posted on since this happened, has) people who will hate on LeBron and the Heat, as well as people who will bandwagon them just the same.

What would the storyline be going into this season if this DIDN'T happen? "Who will beat the Lakers?" I'm fine with that, but you have to admit that this is an interesting situation any way that you cut it, and it's a great discussion topic.

All of that aside, I did find it appalling the way he did this on live TV. Talk about an out of control ego. That's like A-Rod times 50. This whole thing is going to make the season a blast, hearing his reception when he goes to Boston or NY. People are going to buy tickets for the sole reason of crapping on LeBron.
