Re: The LeBron James Thread
What the hell else what would be talking about? The food?
Miami's fan base is atrocious. Took 2 of the best players in the world on the same team just to get them in the Top 5. That doesn't even mean that everyone shows up. Most people probably buy season tickets as a novelty just to say they can go whenever. Marlins never sell out and the Dolphins only pack the place when they are good, other wise it's a ghost town.
Did you watch the playoff series before the 3 Queens came together, against the Celtics? AAA was like half empty.
NY>>>>Miami and it's not even close.
I live in Chicago, so I hear about stuff like Wrigley Field being old, unsanitary, somewhat empty because of the losing, etc. () Also, when baseball season is here, I see the White Sox fans pack the Red Line to go to US Cellular Field all the time, and the Cubs fans for Wrigley Field on occasion.
I don't follow the Miami fan base, so why would I hear about it or pay attention to it? Only reason I know about the Marlins is because every time I saw them on SportsCenter, it would look like literally no one was there, which I thought was funny.
You gotta calm down about some of these things, I wasn't even trying to be funny.
And the food? You could've at least said customer service or something.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
You don't say? A team with two of the five best players in the NBA is in the top 5 in attendance? A team with two of the five best players in the NBA should be leading the league in attendance, should sell out every game and have a massive waiting list for season tickets. Miami sports fans are still horrible.
I see what you guys are talking about.

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Why? Portland has always had a passionate fan base.
You need to brush up on your sports cities my friend.
Also, regarding your previous post, if you don't know much about the Florida/Miami fan base, then why try to interject in discussion about it, when you have no real knowledge on the subject, then try to tell me it's a matter of opinion. SmhComment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Calm it down fellas. It's not so serious. Miami's fanbase for sports in general is severely lacking.
Anyone who has Lebron, Bosh, and Wade on the team, should be the #1 draw in the league, without question.
It's an absolute travesty that come tipoff for every game, at least a quarter of the lower bowl seats are empty, waiting for their owners to make a fashionably late entrance. THose who are there, are generally on their iPhone's and not paying attention to what's happening on the floor. Quite sad.Twitter - WTF_OS

I was just saying that a player's decision to go there was a matter of opinion. I highly doubt guys my age would be concerned with what time fans make it to the game more than the opportunity to play in South Beach. Hell, as long as fans show up, that would be all I'd care about initially.
But that's why I say it's a matter of opinion - from a younger player's viewpoint.
It's kind of similar to how recruits view NCAA football and athletics - some care about the tradition and experience, and some if not most couldn't care less, as long as they can play and get to the next level.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Attendance doesn't mean anything when the people that show up for the games don't care about the product on the floor. I imagine 90% of the Miami crowd shows up to Heat games just to get on television, which is sad. A team of that quality deserves the same in return from its fan base, and they certainly don't get it.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
It's definitely sad. I'd kill to be able to get those seats for the HEAT games. I'd be going Spike Lee in there! Haha but seriously, Heat fans are lame. Even though I'm not a huge fan, I love going to Thunder games here, best crowd in the NBA."To the last minute, to the last second, to the last man, we fight"Comment

My post wasn't to say Miami has the highest grade of fans...I think we all know how fan support is on south beach...lol

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Does anyone else think there is some sort of misplaced expectation on Lebron or has a problem with other players not receiving the same amount of criticism that Lebron gets or think it's fair that he even receives it?#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
I think holding LeBron to a championship or bust standard is completely fair....he's been in the league too long to settle for anything less....
The only thing unfair about his "criticism" is when everything is made into a spectacle: every quote, tweet, ASG performance, action. It's incredibly annoying.... IMO the excuse that he "brought that on himself" hit its expiration date a long time ago. Im sorry, that doesn't warrant a five minute segment on what his bike has written on it.Comment

And to add, The Decision did not help alleviate his image at all. Matter of fact, it worsened it.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
"Not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven..." was what LeBron said during his pep rally, counting the championships he, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh would deliver to Miami. "When I say that, I really believe it."
He made those predictions before the Heat had ever played a game together, before a practice had been held and before a game had been won or lost.
It was unprecedented in its arrogance, and it's something LeBron can't take back.Redskins, Lakers, Orioles, UNC Basketball , and ND Football
