Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread

He goes to New Jersey and here's why:

1)Brooke Lopez - without a doubt a 20-10 guy with LeBron on the team, and he can score on any big man. The best thing in my eye is he can take Dwight out of the Paint with his jumpshot. Defensively he might be a handle but the Nets could pick somebody up with....
2)Prokhorov - Who doesn't want a billionare who wants to dipose of somes money like its semen? His impact will be greater then potentially any other owner in history. The guy is coming to NJ/Brooklyn with an empire and plans for a grand....
3)Stadium/Brooklyn - One of the mecca's of not basketball, not rap, but black culture. He would be at the head of his throne in the Greatest City in the World with the most accomplished rapper of all time in jay-z and all the other titans of brooklyn's history. After a breif stint in the luxuorious Prudential Center in downtown Newark.
4)The possibilities of John Wall - The problem of John Wall is one of the better quarrels you can have. Do you draft him? Keep Devin? Trade Harris? If you answer draft him then you have two lightning fast guards, one a scorer, and the other a facilitator. If you keep both then you have the fastest backcourt EVER. Now think about this for a second, they would bet the pheonix suns, but faster and better. Damn. However you have to worry about two's on devin harris, who is undersized and a undesireable shooter. Others guards would crush him on O', so maybe you have LeBron guard the better of the two position. Or you trade him and get something pretty good inreturn. You can trust Rod Thorn with getting you close to maximum value for him, but how big is his value after a rather forgettable 09-10 season. Terrence had alot of positives towards the end of the season and is a capable two guard to fill in. As of now they have no....
5)Coach - LeBron can choose his coach, and some of the players he wants to play with. Not only is this the free agency of all time, but it has a host of terrific coaches. The options are endless, does he want JVG, or Larry Brown. How about Avery Johnson?

Rod is going to have the luxury of having the greatest athletic specimen in the history of the world and maybe, just maybe the player who surpasses the One he drafted.

Carmelo is a FA Next Year right?

Pretty sure if the Nets/Bulls snag Lebron they have enough cap space to add Melo to the mix next year.

Also what about a sign and trade scenario's?

If your Cleveland and LBJ leaves your left holding the bag. What's the rules on sign and trades in the NBA?

Bulls could send Deng and Hinrich to Cleveland and clear more cap space. Though Cleveland would completely screw themselves dealing with a rival. BUT in a way if they lose LBJ for nothing what are they suppose to do?

                    LOL

You know Oakley is very bitter towards the Knicks organization for first trading him away, and then not hiring him as a coach, right?

Article reeked of Oakley seeking attention.

Probably not! Thing is, I don't think Wade or James would rather play with each other than with a big man. Dwyane knows what it's like to play with a big man, and I think he knows he needs that again. Neither Wade nor James is a stellar shooter from deep, and neither of them excel in catching and shooting, so they aren't the most ideal matchups with one another as far as free agents go. James/Wade would be best with Bosh/Amar'e, and I think they both know that. Unless Phoenix wins a ring or at least is competitive in the Finals, I don't think Amar'e stays, mostly because Nash is getting old, and he doesn't want to be there by himself in two, three years. Best thing Phoenix can hope for is Amar'e to hang around in the short term, but this series coming up counts towards that.

Can't stress enough how tired these guys are of seeing Kobe Bryant in the Finals/getting rings. I think they'll do what they can to put themselves in that position, and that means pairing up with a big man, because any way you cut it, the road to the Finals will be going through Dwight and Pau for the forseeable future in both conferences. That's a hard road to take if there is no big man to help you balance things out in the middle.

Chicago and New Jersey are present similar situations from a talent standpoint. Rose/Noah vs. High Draft Pick/Harris/Lopez. The tradability of Harris cannot be underestimated here. That dude(or THE Dude) can bring in a quality piece at another position in a trade, if the Nets get Wall. If the Nets don't get Wall, they may wind up with the best big in the draft, which is a very scary proposition.

Harris/Lee/Lebron/Cousins/Lopez--could be kinda crazy. In two years, that could be the best frontcourt in the league.

Draft night may be a huge factor in how things fall.

But let's face it LeBron is the new school version of Dr.J minus the 2 aba titles. Check their stats and style of play their the same player, all they do is Amaze ppl.

Rose and Noah can be LeBron's Dennis Johnson and Kevin Mchale

I don't see the point of staying in the cleveland bcuz if he does he's gonna be like DR.J by letting the players and coaches and management control his career, LeBron had to play Magic when he first came into the league and the last couple of years he has been playing Jordan and nothing has happened, every player they surrounded him has all been salary dump/washed up players, 7yrs of failure why stay
I think you owe Bill Simmons some royalties for that post.

For NJ at least. A lot hinges on that #1 pick.

Yeah, I love Oak but he's a bitter dude. Not just with this but he's a bit of an a-hole all around, which is why I loved him as a player of course. 99% sure he's the "anonymous Knick legend" that Broussard had as an "inside source" that was ripping the Knicks and The Garden.

I'm sure Oak will be in his ear telling him not to go to NY, some cats can hold grudges like females.
