I can tell you that a owner wouldnt say this, unless there was truth in the matter. To me, it sounds like there was some things going on we didnt know about. I wonder if Gilbert has spilled the whole beans in the matter? This makes me wonder if there wasnt some proof they found in what he said.

I got NO respect for this guy. If I'm a free agent I'm thinking long and hard if I want to play for a spoiled, rich baby like this. Lebron had the right to leave. Grow up Gilbert.

The sad fact is that in a lot of ways Dan Gilbert, the Cavaliers organization and the city of Cleveland should've seen this sort of scenario happening. It's all about LeBron and **** everyone else, IMO.

Yeah, a HOF'er that many considered a "softie" and choker. Duncan was the catalyst for all of those title runs and he never ran off to "greener" pastures.
This. I was just thinking about the article where he admitted that he was a spoiled jerk when he was young. He came to play here in Dayton against a strong Dunbar squad and UD Arena was sold out. The place was packed in a blizzard. And it was that way everywhere he went.He had all this acclaim and prodigious talent, but a huge ego that grated with a lot of purists. Then he seemed to grow out of it.The sad thing is, as soon as he seemed to find himself, this all comes up and he went back to the Selfish little man-child he was back then. His pride seems to be his achilles heel. Give him the stage and it just goes to his head. From the comments about fans being "spoiled by his play" to this whole giant ego trip with the "decision." Please. He's gifted as the day is long, but he has a lot to learn about real decisions. Like whether to feed the family or keep the house....

His real value and gift was to be a beacon of hope in a dark place. Guess "South Beach" and the good life sounded better. Gilbert gets it, the mind of the Northeast Ohio fan. LeBron used to, if only for a little while. The "boy prince" is back.... He should have listened to the man he had become, and the character he had grown through his struggles in Cleveland. All the hype aside, you could see he wasn't really happy tonight. I see a future of doubts and regret for him. I guarantee that.....

The other thing is I felt like Chicago basically had all the benefits of Miami, had young talent that would make the window for titles even bigger for Lebron and quite frankly in my SAS voice, had a better team. He could have gotten all the benefits of Miami and improved his legacy, so I just see it as a bad move. Plus once you think about Derrick Rose is only like 21/22; even when Lebron is exiting his prime, Derrick Rose should be entering his.

If you believe the NY Knicks' presentation and the financial people they got then they stated I believe that LBJ has a 0% chance of making a billion in Miami.

I think you might see some nice little nuggets. I think a nice can of worms has been opened. Unfortunately, it will probably be dismissed as Gilbert being bitter.

Why didn't he hold LeBron "accountable" during his time in Cleveland, though? Yes, he made similar comments after their game 3 or 5 loss, but why throw shots LeBron's way now?

He shouldn't have been enabling the guy over the last 7 years, IMO. I feel bad for Cleveland and the fanbase, but Gilbert brought this upon himself.

Yeah I'm talking about his tank job against Boston this past year.

The sun still rises in the east and sets in the west.

                            Thank goodness, it's over.

This is partially good news for Bucks and Bulls fans. Sorry, Cav fans, I would have liked him to stay as well.

This colluding has shifted the power of the Eastern Conference, for good or for bad.

Hoping the CBA coming up will never allow this to happen in the history of NBA Basketball again.

Re: LeBron James Signs With Miami Heat

Wow this got crazy fast. I understand how Cavs fans would be so upset. But all the signs were there that he was not coming back for years now. He could have signed a longer deal a few years ago to show he wanted to be there. He sent a message to the front office to do much better or he is out. What did they do sign Shaq who is way over the hill, Mo Williams who is a good player but not great, & trade for Jameson who showed why he had been wasting away in Washington. The Cavs didn't do enough to make them the best. The NBA is all about the playoffs and this team was not built for a deep playoff run.
Who are we trying to fool by saying winning is not everything. I'm a high school coach and I can tell you it is EVERYTHING. When you make it to that high level (high school, college, pros) success is measured in how many titles you won. When people talk about Malone or Stockton they always point out they have zero rigns. The Braves of the 90's won 14 streight divisions but only one World Series. If I don't win games then I get fired. So I can see James desire to go where he can win. You only have so long before your body breaks down.
Then to see what the owner had to say wow. The guy is a witch doctor putting a spell on LeBron. I can see his anger but come on. He could have showed more class.
At the end of the day the guy did what he felt was best for him. James wants to win rings and felt like he could not do that where he was. Put you self in his place would you leave a job you had worked at for years to have the chance to gain more success. I still think James, Wade, and Bosh plained this a few years back when they all 3 signed short term like deals. I think Miami was the location all along. Think about, Wade won a ring there, they were the only team that could sign all 3, and Pat Riley runs the show.
Anyway enough what if. I do feel for the people of Ohio who put hope and faith in this guy. He did make your team a lot of money in his times there and you will rebound. If I was the guy I would want to live in South Beach as well.
Relax, it's just a video game!
