and now your hating on him for doing just that?

Your just contradicting yourself over and over, give it a rest bro.
So lemme get this straight, you actually dug through this monsterous thread to find quotes that I stated before LeBron made his decision and you know...clued us all in to the fact that this wasn't a legit free agency period? I'm pretty sure I've been saying since his decision that that is what one of my problems with this whole thing has been, that they played us all for fools. That they had us all believing that they were doing things in a fair, resonable fashion and hadn't actually made up their minds at least since the playoffs (I'll even give them the benefit of the doubt of not plotting this bull for 4 years on this one)ended where they were going.

The only one that needs to give anything a rest is you.

PPG seems about right. Defenders will have to stay at home on guys like Wade and Bosh so that will clear the lane for dude to score. I'd guess less assists because of the lack of spot up shooters for the Heat.

That is not the way it works, 23. As you may already know, the word fan is short for fanatic, fanatic defined:

"a person with an extreme and uncritical enthusiasm or zeal, as in religion or politics."

          Additionally:

          Synonyms
          1. enthusiast, zealot, bigot, hothead, militant. Fanatic, zealot, militant, devotee refer to persons showing more than ordinary support for, adherence to, or interest in a cause, point of view, or activity. Fanatic and zealot both suggest excessive or overweening devotion to a cause or belief. Fanatic further implies unbalanced or obsessive behavior: a wild-eyed fanatic. Zealot, only slightly less unfavorable in implication than fanatic, implies single-minded partisanship: a tireless zealot for tax reform. Militant stresses vigorous, aggressive support for or opposition to a plan or ideal and suggests a combative stance. Devotee is a milder term than any of the foregoing, suggesting enthusiasm but not to the exclusion of other interests or possible points of view: a jazz devotee.

When you apply all that the word itself entails you begin to see that what a hurt "fan" will or won't do is quite unpredictable, why? because they are fans. I did a report on the subject while in college. A fan of a particular sports team goes through the same chemical processes and states of mind of the players actually participating. It is a very deep and serious thing.

Yeah I don't agree with threatening actual physical harm of the guy over this and bringing his mom into all of it because it really isn't that serious. However that's pretty much what happens when teams/sports that people have vested interest in sometimes for their whole lives are involved. That's why it's never going to change no matter how much it should change. Then of course you have just the common douche who started being a "fan" of the team when they started winning or probably isn't a basketball fan at all and just sees the opportunity to hate on somebody and is gonna run with it. Either way, I do agree, anything above heckling LeBron for his decision, quitting in the playoffs, running to Wade for help and some nWo jokes is going too far.

LeBron responds to Gilbert’s scathing letter
              by ADMIN on JULY 11, 2010 - 11:37 AM
              in DAN GILBERT,LEBRON JAMES,MIAMI HEAT,FREE AGENCY

Former Cavs star LeBron James criticized team owner Dan Gilbert’s emotional letter to fans in an interview with Rachel Nichols airing on ESPN’s ”Sunday Conversation.”

Portions of the interview were shown during the network’s Sunday morning ”SportsCenter.” James announced Thursday night during a one-hour ESPN special that he was jumping to the Miami Heat after seven years in Cleveland.

”I think it’s unfortunate that he did that,” James said of Gilbert’s response. ”I understand that the fans are hurt and I wish it could have been a different way. But Dan and whoever his partners are have to look themselves in the mirror and understand what he may have done may have cost them in the long run.”

When Nichols commented that Gilbert’s language was extremely strong, James said, ”I’ve heard worse. I’ve been in a single-parent household, I’ve heard worse.”

Asked if he called the Cavs personally on Thursday, James said, ”I didn’t talk to anyone personally because … I got to a point the last day, I heard so much throughout the whole process. The last day I wanted to be about me. I didn’t want to talk to anybody. So when I went to that interview I was comfortable with myself and I wasn’t hearing other people’s voices going on in my decision. I didn’t talk to anybody.”

I'm ok with this from James. I imagine making this decision was hard and it would have been really difficult to tell them "I'm leaving" when emotionally you may not want to.

People that have given notice after working with a company a full year after many years of go through the same emotions sometimes because some of them enjoyed working there.

So it's okay to tell them only a few minutes before hand that he is leaving?

Yes. Player get cut or traded all the time and find out through the media outlets. He wanted to build suspense for his press-conference and telling teams would have been pointless because his decision would have been most definitely leaked. Look how Dan Gilbert behaved after he found out.

They both behaved terrible about the whole situation.

So, it was all about him and not about his previous employer.

Unbelievable that you bring that crap into this topic.
Bringing them up was partly because the post right above the one you quoted was someone mentioning righteous men and then it mentioned Kobe and Jordan as if they were examples of this. If thats not what the other poster meant then so be it but thats what I was basing my opinion on.

So because Dan Gilbert behaved, that makes what LeBron did alright?

What LeBron did was classless. There is no way you can make an argument that it was not classless.

I guess we have to discuss class. LeBron had a plan and part of that plan was staying away from teams for whatever reason. It's not like we didnt know this was the plan all along. Outside of every teams sloted times he didnt talk to any of them. He made everybody take the wait and see approach.
