Re: The LeBron James Thread
Yeah, man. Those Bulls/Knicks, Pacers/Knicks, Pistons/Bulls, and Heat/Knicks games were all about fun lovin' hoops and those fists they threw were merely hugs for respect.
Oakley: Hahahahahaha this is so fun and clean!
Mourning: You are a cancer to your team and your league.
There further away we get from it, the more and more I'm expecting someone to say that the stars of the 90s populated the moon and ended world hunger all while keeping a competitive fire!Last edited by redcedarrevenge; 01-12-2011, 03:38 PM.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Damm, LeBron is cold man. Those comments are about as classless as it gets.
Even if he hates the Cavs management and hates the Cavs fans...those are still your ex team mates / friends who got humiliated in LA. No need to add salt to those wounds.
I've seen LeBron interviewed a thousand times now and the guy is "challenged" intellectually. That's not a criticism. He got incredible physical gifts, he missed out elsewhere. I don't think he's a horrible guy...just that he's probably not bright enough to realise what a low class act he looks like.
If I was his manager, no way in hell would have I let him open a twitter account and express what's on 'his mind'. Some people need saving from themselves..."on hoping there is a PSN flash sale before Valentine's Day"
Man there are no flashers... now what are we going to do for vd
yea but will they take psn cards

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Great points Cebby and redcedar...sure players back then didnt use twitter....(mainly because it didnt exist lol)
but there were FAR worse things SAID man...far worse done...
This was a league where you could literally scream in someones face after scoring....you could damn near do a endzone celebration after scoring and not get a tech...
Thats why I cant get mad at this....douches werent created after the 80s-90s in the NBA man...its just sad what causes a huge reaction now...
IMO of course...Im not sure when people say they want the "old" NBA back they really mean it...Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
I'm an 80's baby so I know about those rivalries and what went down. That's guys playing a game and in the heat of competition doing some dirty things or playing hard, it's not a dickhead like LeBron sitting behind a computer screen or waiting until he's in a situation that's a lock for him to win on to be a tough guy. The Knicks could suck *** and win 10 games back then but those were guys that you KNEW was tough (not saying they won 10 games during that time frame, just giving an example) and would put you on your *** if they needed to. LeBron curls up in a ball and quits and retweets all the big mean comments from fans on Twitter. The point is there's a difference between wanting to see rivalries between good teams like we used to have and LeBron holding grudges against people for his stupid *** decisions.
There's nothing 'tough' about chippy play or Charles Smith. Yet, here we are, celebrating the New York Knicks run in the 90's which was punctuated by gaffes, by stupidity in the heat of moments, by the fact that they never clutched up and won a chip, yet LeBron James is lambasted because of the rose tinted glasses world of NBA fans who can't reconcile some short sighted fact.
What stupid decision did LeBron make? Isn't his team second in the Eastern conference and his old one in the cellar? Are we talking about the dumb decisions that Dan Gilbert, a man who lashed out because he bought an NBA franchise as a Howard Schultz vanity project and constant ATM thanks to James being there lashing out because his horrible management lost out on its investment? Would it be better if he did it with a Miami newspaper? Sorry, but Comic Sans man had this coming. He was the one who wanted to use PR to tear a man who made him hundreds of millions of dollars down in a childish fit.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Exactly why I don't understand why everyone says the Jets should keep quiet before their game with the Pats this weekend. This sort of stuff is great for sports whether or not you agree with the moral/character/d-bag issues behind it. Storylines, rivalries, making it personal/actually hating a dude and not having everyone in the league be buddy-buddy is great."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
"Beware of geeks bearing formulas." - Warren BuffetComment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
This whole thing has gone from questioning a mans intelligence because he decided to go someplace else and be true to himself to fans calling dude Hitler and trying to find solace from like-minded haters because the world at large has moved on.
And for anyone who is new to this thread, there are sync ups with LeBron to Hitler.
At this juncture, I think some of these folk are in on an elaborate parody that they keep wanting to build up.Comment

The more Lebron talks the more I hate him. I understand some people like this I suppose, but both him and Cleveland just need to stfu and move on seriously they are both acting like little kids imo.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment
