Just makes me think of MJ, he stayed with the Bulls until they defeated their demon.

So...can we just skip to the Finals already? Can LeBron get his ring now? I mean, they beat Philadelphia and the corpse of the Boston Celtics and they're a lock to win now and all.

Just for the record...we seriously gonna say Cleveland couldn't have won this year if Bron stayed?

                Re: The LeBron James Thread

Even though I know OSU will never forgive him, I don't think anyone in Cleveland should based on that apology. Yes, he explained why he felt he needed to go to Miami but some were disappointed that he didn't stick it out in Cleveland... people weren't "mad" about that. They were mad about how he did the whole thing.

So he apologized for how he did the whole thing (a step in the right direction) but that's all he said about it... I apologize. Everything else he said was about why he felt he needed to leave the team. He should've said what he thought was wrong about "the decision" and not telling his teammates, coach and owner before the rest of the world... the free agency tour he went on. Talk about how he made the people of Cleveland feel by doing all that crap. Then I can see them beginning to accept an apology. As of now we're just stuck with "well at least he finally admits it."

                    Re: The LeBron James Thread

Not to get into this again, but sports is a business LeBron didn't owe anybody anything. Everything he did was to market himself. It was his right as a free agent and was what him and his team thought what was best for his brand. A team and every single player in the league will do what they think is best for them.

I really feel for the Cleveland fans(I may be in their shoes next season), but this is the nature of sports. From their perspective I don't see how him addressing it differently would make them feel any better. Once again if CP3 has a decision I will watch and hope he chooses to stay. On the chance he didn't the fact he had a 1hr special wouldn't make it hurt any more or less. I expect Chris to do what's best for him same as LeBron.

Boston is 100 times better than anything the Bulls have played [assuming the Bulls will even win the series].

It's weird how people still haven't gotten used to the fact that Miami is gonna get all the attention. Might as well accept it, they're gonna get the spotlight win or lose.

They built a team around him that could help with that.

I agree. How LeBron went about it was obviously wrong, but he owes Cleveland nothing. He did what's best for him, as he's close to winning a championship and regardless of what people say, no, he's not the second option, nor is he the Robin to Wade's Batman.

With that said I think his apology was a little cheesy because he doesn't owe an apology to anybody for what he did. And, essentially, he took a subtle shot at Cleveland for failing to surround him with the right players to beat Boston (which was true).

As fans I think we get too emotionally invest in our personal favorites and forget that it's a business 1st and foremost. Owner are constantly moving to different cities for that very same reason. To me the decision wasn't a matter of right and wrong it's a matter of good business move vs. bad business move.

As far as the apology I never thought about it in that way. Initial I thought it was sincere. Although you bring up a good point. That could have easily been a shot @Cleveland. Just the timing and nature of it made it seem real to me.

Don't agree with that. He owes the other players on the team and the management to tell them his decision before he announces that to the rest of the world. He definitely owed Cleveland better. All they did was support him through every thing he did. Through the dancing up the sidelines, not shaking hands, anything that anybody in the national media had to say about him in a negative light they ALWAYS supported him. Hell even after he quit on them in the playoffs last year they were still ready to support him through anything even if he signed a one year contract to stay in Cleveland. He owed better than to allow cameras to broadcast around the world the EXACT moment that he crushed Cleveland's hearts. There are people that was in those bars, I have no clue who they are, but I'll remember they're faces forever because they were blasted on tv the second he announced his decision.

And it's still weird how people still haven't gotten over the fact that the team and LeBron is going to get a lot of hate from people for a while for what he did. Not bitter, but can we at least see two games of the ECF before we determine that the Heat are going to win it and dominate whoever from the East? Certainly acting like beating Boston now is this huge accomplishment. Any chance Boston had at winning that series was out the window the second Rondo's arm went poo poo. If we're basing Miami winning it all now off they're performance against Boston like some people seem like they are just on the internet in general then, yeah, I'm gonna take this attitude about it.
