Lebron ain't taking no 1-2 year deal. It would be 3-5 years with ETOs or options.

Re: The LeBron James Thread
It doesn't make sense to not get like a 4 year deal with an option and ETO where he could become a UFA after 2 years. The result is the same but there's much more guaranteed money in the longer deal.Fan of:

Dude, this is LeBron we're talking about. He will get max money again 2 years from now.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
What if he gets injured? The only reason to take a short deal is if you're about to retire or are unproven. I can't think of a reason not to take a longer deal where he can become a UFA after the same 2 years. Talk about leaving money on the tableFan of:

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Idk, even if he gets injured every team that could would still throw max money at home because of the profit he would bring them.

Re: The LeBron James Thread
I'm just not seeing why you sign a 2 year deal when you can sign a 4 year deal with an ETO after the second year. The result is exactly the same you just get 2 more years guaranteed at max.

Re: The LeBron James Thread
it makes COMPLETE sense to take a contract that ends when the TV renewal comes up.
if he takes the max now, for these 2? years, then he can re sign when the TV is done and the cap is much higher, allowing him to them sign a 4-5 year deal with opt outs where he can go and get something like 25 a year or moreComment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
These athletes are competitive man, they want to maximize their earning potential. Just because you say you would be fine with less doesn't mean he would, and the fact that he's seeking it tells you that he is not fine with taking less than max.
It looks like option 2 is the stronger argument, because the recent ESPN article claims that they can afford Lowry even with a max deal, so long as Wade and Bosh take *significant* cuts.Originally posted by Kaiser Wilhelmthere should not be ties occurring in the NFL except when neither team wins the game.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Well if he's talking only a 2 year deal, he would opt out of that 4 year deal anyway, so it doesn't make a difference. LeBron isn't worried about guaranteed money, he knows he will get max no matter what.
Maybe he doesn't want to be in Miami after 2 years from now? Like I stated earlier, Wade will be pretty bad by then and Bosh will keep regressing as well.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
I think Lebron wants one more run at a title in Miami, but doesn't want to hang around if they don't win. I also think he wants to see how the 3 #1 picks in Cleveland develop with Blatt.Comment
