That's why he spends all his time on trick shots and dunks, and not on basketball fundamentals. He'll never be on Kobe's level, and definitely not on MJ's.

LeBron wants to AMAZE. Kobe wants GREATNESS. All MJ did was WIN. That's what sets the three apart.

In my opinion, the greatest of all time is Bill Russell. He's got 11 rings.

And to the guy who is saying Hakeem needed Clyde to win or whatever, Hakeem only won 1 with Clyde. Who was his sidekick in 94? He had an above average team like LeBron has with the Cavs. And he's done NOTHING with them. So don't dare try to compare LeBron to Hakeem. LeBron is a biatch. Hakeem was the real deal.
Fixed the first part in bold for you. And it wasn't just him that quit either. And the second bolded part at the bottom shows your agenda on this topic.

    Neither am I man.

It seems like nowadays we worry waaay too much about defining a player's career before it is even over. Hell sometimes before it has even begun. It's like people can never just sit back and say "damn, X Player is good and I'm gonna enjoy watching him play". Instead it's like "If he doesn't win a title before his 6th year he sucks". We always expect a great player's career to follow another great player's career and draw parrallels to them but it doesn't happen that way. We need to just sit back and let LeBron's career unfold instead of always trying to rush to judgement.

      Exactly.

I also can't ever really understand the "Is player X overrated?" question, who is doing the ratings, is there some end all be all list on some hidden supreme basketball website that I haven't seen or heard of yet?

Calling someone overrated is overrated. That word has to be the most overused word in sports, right next to swagger.

And if the Cavs had won it'd would've been Lebron and Jamison or Lebron and Mo or Lebron and Shaq. The whole "chicken/egg" thing gets ignored. Gasol has been an all star for years but he goes with Kobe, gets a ring and now he's amazing and we'll be talking about Kobe and Gasol. I'm not even saying it's not deserved but putting a ring on a finger doesn't make the 2nd level players better (unless of course they are like Pippen, Robinson, Kobe in the Shaq years) and not winning doesn't make them worse. This year's Cavs team lost to a Celtics squad that turns out was pretty damn good, especially on defense.

This thread is funny. 2 MVP's and he's overrated because his coach got out coached and his teammates disappeared in the playoffs.

LeBron weakness is at time he dominates the ball to long and he jacks up too many three's ,but right now he is the best player in the league.
You looking at the Chair MAN!

Number may not tell the whole story ,but they never lie either.

So how are NBA practices? Is it as great as I've always imagined? I mean, I only ask cause clearly you're at them all the time, particularly the Cavs' practices.

Seriously though man, we see some Sportscenter highlights of LeBron hitting crazy shots AFTER practice and at the END of warmups pregame once or twice a month and you've managed to determine that he spends all his time working on that as opposed to other parts of his game? Like as has already been said here, the only real weakness Bron has right now is he tends to hold onto the ball too long and if he makes a jumper or two he falls in love with his jumper too much. Other than that he is the best player in the game right now and there is nothing wrong with his fundamentals.
