Who's the most hated team in the NBA now?
As the old saying goes....Nobody likes Goliath. Plus many people feel deceived by Miami's new Big 3's three year plot to join forces. Not to mention LeBron's tacky exit from Cleveland.

I'd say Heat by a long shot. We've got Celtics fans in here saying that they would root for the Lakers in a Heat-Laker final. If that doesn't say it all, I don't know what doesOriginally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

The Lakers, and it isnt even close.
EDIT: And no, before some smartass comes in and says "Oh, that's not surprising coming from you", it has nothing to do with that. All the success + all the idiotic fans + the history of hatred + everything keeps them at the top. Miami has done nothing and can't even field a team yet so who cares.Comment

Miami has indeed taken the Mantle from the Lakers. Some day the Lakers will of course get the title back, but for now its the Heat. When you have Boston fans saying that the Lakers are the lesser of two evils, that says much.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: Who's the most hated team in the NBA now?
I think it's the Heat. There are a lot of Lakers fans everywhere, for all of the same history that makes them hated. With the Heat, this is a new, flash in the pan hatred without any of the benefit of years of love. People liked Wade, but he wasn't very popular. Most people don't know anything about Bosh. Lebron was the 2nd most popular player in the league, and he took all of that popularity and changed it into hate. Line for line, he seemed to follow an NWO wrestling script, and it has had the same effect.
Lebron was supposed to carve out his own legacy, and he literally opted out of that path for this bizarre alternate reality where he, Bosh and Wade have one big party all the way to a dynasty. No one wants to see that. Potentially, the Heat could go unopposed for years, since the best teams have aging pieces, and the younger players are on middling teams right now.
People are making arguments that this has been done before, but it really hasn't. Three of the top ten scorers, three of the top five in one of the most talented draft classes ever, opting out and joining on the same team.
Without the TV special, James leaving his hometown, the week of Twitter and camera crews, and the other options that would have created interesting rivalries, this may have been viewed differently.
The perception is that these guys are celebrating their dynasty before it starts, and very few people outside of Miami want to see this prophecy fulfilled.
And if Riley gives Spoelstra some "family time", WATCH OUT.Comment

Re: Who's the most hated team in the NBA now?
Right now it is Miami but when the season starts and the feelings of anger, bitterness, and rejection subside it'll go back to LA being the villain, especially once everyone gets to nWo play.As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"Comment

Re: Who's the most hated team in the NBA now?
It's definitely Miami. People have been hating the Lakers strong the last three years (not that they don't anyway) and it's time for the masses to have something new to hate.

Re: Who's the most hated team in the NBA now?
These are all my opinions of course, but after Riley "promotes" Spoelstra to VP of basketball operations, and "demotes" himself to coach, and Lebron and company make another couple hundred arrogant statements/gestures over the next several months, and a previously beloved veteran players takes pennies to gravy-train the heat trio and new bandwagon Miami fans preen like insufferable asses online and in real life, acting as if the Heat are already a dynasty, the Miami hate will justifiably increase exponentially.Jordan Mychal Lemos

I still hate the Lakers...but it's probably the Heat. Just the way people are acting like they've already stolen the title...lol. It'll be a fun year. I actually think it will be good for the league though.Comment

Re: Who's the most hated team in the NBA now?
Still the Lakers for me as long as Kobe and Vujacic are there.
The only thing I'll hate about the Super-Friends is all them damn bandwagoners. "Who me? I've been a Heat fan for years!".Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.
