That has nothing to do with anything. The bottom line is the players want to live it up in Miami, LA, New York, etc.....the smaller citys, or not as desireable citys are NEVER gonna get the good players with the way things are set up.
Pro sports is too Hollywood these days. Just my opinion.

          LMAO.

That is horribly inaccurate. We just saw a superstar leave a team that did everything it could within reason to give him help and whatever else he needed.

If Stern wants balance, he'll outlaw FA. Otherwise, you're ALWAYS going to have superstars leaving smaller cities for bigger cities.

              From Bill Simmons' mailbag:

One more note: New Orleans can't trade Paul unless it dumps Okafor's contract (four years and $52 million remaining) and maybe even every other bad contract it has (one year of Peja Stojakovic for $14.3 million; two years of James Posey for $13 million). That rules out every suitor except Oklahoma City (this trade plus two No. 1 picks, which hinges on Paul agreeing to play for another small-market team); Orlando (which couldn't give New Orleans a blue-chipper but could take back every bad contract with this trade); Portland (this trade plus picks, money and Greg Oden's cell phone); Houston (this trade plus New York's pick in 2011 or 2012 and $3 million, with the caveat that New Orleans buys out Yao and he re-signs with Houston); Dallas (two deals: Tyson Chandler for Okafor and $3 million, then this deal with Dallas throwing in another $3 million); and New York (this trade plus $3 million).

So if they're really trading him -- and by the way, he wanted out five weeks ago -- we're about to find out what's important to Mr. Paul. If he wants to win titles, he pushes for Oklahoma City or Orlando. If he wants to be famous in a big market, play D'Antoni Ball and throw alley-oops to Amare Stoudemire as MSG goes bonkers, he pushes for New York. Either way, I think he's gone.

(Note: That sudden silence you hear is 5 million Knicks fans being unable to breathe.)

BTW I highly doubt the OKC trade happens at all. I think they're just fine with Westbrook. No sense in giving him plus all those other guys up for a PG coming off knee surgery.

I honestly don't know why he's compiled a list to begin with, as if he has a choice in the matter.
It sounds like that's what the Hornets are going to do, minus the "team with no chance" part. That's how they have to go about this anyways. They can't pull what a team like Toronto did and have their superstar (Vince Carter) hold them hostage and then give him up for scraps just to get rid of him.

                Re: Chris Paul wants out?

The Hornets organization has been terrible with it's stars going all the way back to Alonzo Mourning and Larry Johnson. Shinn and the front office has pissed off:

                Mourning
                Larry Johnson
                Glen Rice
                Eddie Jones
                Baron Davis

and now Chris Paul. I think there is more to the story here.

OK so just because one player does it its a pandemic in the league now?

The problem with the Hornets more specifically Shinn is he's a tight wad.

You gotta think Westbrook would be on his way out if CP3 goes to OKC, which would really piss off Durant as he and Russ are very tight...

Don't I know it. Thankfully, the mom and pop front office is becoming a thing of the past and hopefully Shinn will follow suit.

                        Who knows?

Honestly, this is a completely new thing. The power somehow shifted from the owners to the players in the past year or so. The players can pretty much do whatever they want since this Heat <del>sham</del> threesome.

Unless we get something in the CBA that prevents teams from clearing out their whole team, I very much believe the new trend will be to pair 2 or three superstars by having few contracts on your team rather than through the draft or trades.

if he goes to Orlando some how the magic not going to ship 5 guys out for 4 contract no way. Not after last year change's. What i tried after seeing bill simmons trade is . Send paul and Posey to Magic for Nelson and carter it work with the espn trade thing.

Magic starting five and backs 10 man rotation would be with that trade for next season would look like this...
                            PG:Paul/Duhon
                            SG.Petrius/Reddick
                            SF:Lewis/Posey
                            PF:Bass/Anderson
                            C: Howard/Gortat

Would be great for magic, best pg and center in league together....

I'm fairly sure NOH wants to rid themselves of Okafor's contract, so the Magic would likely end up with him as well. Not sure how effective he is with injuries or with another defensive-oriented big man like Dwight, but I'd sure like to see the #1 and #2 picks of the draft out there on the court together.

Three players totally voided the very thing that the CBA was supposed to stop: A team creating a dynasty through Free Agency. If you don't think teams are going to try and copycat that model, especially big market teams, you are fooling yourself.

Chris Paul is already setting the foundation for his "super" team.
