Chris Paul is already setting the foundation for his "super" team.

As far as I know, Miami hasnt won anything

On top of that, this wouldnt be happening had not the most lopsided trade in NBA history gone down in Los Angeles after another superstar cried trade me and you're a liar Mr owner, which shifted the balance of the league.

Point is, when I say perspective, lets not start blaming LeBron for WWIII

He was really out of line for having a tv special in free agency, but then again the NBA has been screwed for some time now, it didnt just start on that day.

God, Shut the **** up man...

According to a tweet by Cavs beat writer Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, LeBron James is advising Chris Paul to seek a trade, but to stay in the Western Conference to keep it competitive.

Paul has two years before he becomes a free agent but has put a plan in motion to force a trade out of New Orleans for the 2010-11 season. He is rumored to be favoring Eastern Conference contenders the Magic and Knicks as future places to play. Paul, also interested in playing for the Lakers in the West, plans to meet with New Orleans executives Monday to discuss his future with the team.

The is plenty of blame to go around. The NBA, Pat Riley, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, LeBron James, even the Cavaliers are all responsible for this mess.

The NBA has gone from very enjoyable to me to being very uninteresting. The players are treating the NBA like it is a league of pickup games.

The next CBA better have player collusion as a part of it's rules or else the NBA is going to be absolutely garbage for the coming years.

im sorry this sounds extremely bitter, how did they void the cba? everything they did was legit and legal. If there were a problem it would of been handled by Mr.Stern. The only way I can see the CBA stopping this kind of thing is if it has a rating system like Baseball were you could say a team can't sign more than three Type A FA's in the same offseason or something like that and even then I doubt it will go through because the players as Free Agents have the right to go where ever they decide

The salary cap was in place to prevent teams from creating a super team through free agency. Instead, Miami just decided to blow up their team for a chance *well, actually a lot more than just a chance.* to create this super team.

Miami successfully did something that the CBA was designed to stop, creating a super team through free agency. I expect the next CBA will have a minimum requirement of contracts/salary when they renegotiate, or make the salary cap a solid number next time around to stop this.

And of course I'm bitter, the best player on my favorite team was in cahoots to play for a different team for, at least, a several months.

The Heat signed 3/5ths of the Eastern Conference All Star team's starting lineup. That pretty much qualifies it as a super team to me.

And I'm certain the NBA will put something in their next CBA, be it a hard cap or a minimum salary cap to prevent this from happening again.

I have absolutely no problem with superteams, It fits the structure of the nba. Since only a few teams are shown or advertised anyway just stack all the talent on those teams. The remaining teams (if not contracted) could just be used as feeder teams until their star players are good enough to play on a superteam as well.

the lakers' acquisition of pau gasol isn't close to being the most lopsided trade in nba history.

It is a super team. Two of the top 3 players in the league have never been on the same team WITH a top level PF. Just count the All Star appearances and their ages. I can see people not having a problem with it, and I don't think it's against the CBA or the death of the league, but this is most definitely a first. Their ages are a big factor in this as well. Look at their numbers before playing with one another. People look at the Gasol trade as a power shift(which it was, as the Lakers have dominated the Western Conference since then), but Gasol was not ranked as high as any of these three before the trade.

This is much more akin to the Boston trades, but even then it's different because these three guys are younger and overall higher ranked. Not only has this never happened before, but I don't think anything else is close.

                            That wouldn't prevent it.

If players are willing to sign for 10+ million under the max there's nothing the NBA can do.

As I've stated time and time again, the Heat basically had a hard cap in place. The only thing they did that might not be allowed was going over the cap to sign minimum players but I still think you'll be allowed to do that.

The Lakers during the 1980s were pretty close.

3 #1 picks on the same team including two players who are arguably the SGOAT.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar is 12 years older than Magic, I think. If Chris Bosh were 12 years older than Lebron James, this would be an entirely different discussion.
