Good question. I thought Chris himself said he was satisfied with the team right now?

    EDIT: From his Twitter page.

“The meeting went well. It was great to get an opportunity to sit down with Coach Williams, President Weber and our new General Manager Dell Demps. I expressed my desire to win and I like what they said about the direction that they want to take the team. I have been a Hornet my entire career and I hope to represent the city of New Orleans and state of Louisiana for many years to come.”

Like this one(from Ken Berger who was the first to report that he wanted to be out and would meet with the Hornets on Monday)

After LeBacle 2010 I put very little stock in what "journalists" have to say about the inner thoughts of teams and players. I'm wait and see until something else presents itself from Paul's mouth or the Hornets. If Paul wants to be gone, why the hell does he care about keeping it quiet?

Chris is a stand-up guy. If he says he staying then maybe I'm just being a homer and a bit naive but I believe him.

Like someone said on another forum I frequent, when the biggest key in anyone's theory or story or whatever is "behind the scenes" stuff that he can't even prove beyond nameless "sources", it seems more like a cop out so he doesn't have to provide any real evidence.

And if he's proven wrong, he can blame it on his source for feeding him bad info.

I hope you're right that he'll stay, but I think at the most he'll just play out his contract and leave. I keep hearing that Lebron's advisors are telling him to act like he's happy there because of the hit that Lebron took after the way he left Cleveland.

I think people are making too big of a deal out of CP3 and LBJ being friends. I could be wrong but CP3 doesn't seem like one to not be his own man. I think LBJ's team is trying to stay relevant (and on a side note, not realizing that they're continuing to make James look worse by running their mouth about CP3's situation).

lol agreed. Like I said, I think CP3 will play out his contract and then probably part ways unless the Hornets make a Pau Gasol kind of trade.

I definitely agree with that. It'll just be sad if the "James team" yaps about it like they told him to do it. I seriously doubt he signs with them (which has been reported). Don't know why but I get the feeling Paul realizes these buffoons can't do anything but hurt him.

                        Re: Chris Paul wants out?

THis was a PR move on behalf of both the Hornets and Paul to make sure his trade value isn't hurt by his demands. This gives the options. They'll try to get better and he'll be a good soldier but the Hornets are on borrowed time for CP3. The rest of the NBA knows that if they put together the right package, Paul can be had. He's not untouchable nor is he any more committed to staying. This is just a practical decision not to cause friction on the team while at the same time hampering the team's ability to get a good deal. They are biding their time for now.

A little too late IMO but whatever....

A memo was issued on Tuesday by the NBA to remind teams about tampering rules, specifically about Chris Paul. ESPN.com learned that the memo spells out that "no team should be having communications with Chris Paul or his agent or representative about a potential trade for Paul that have not been authorized in advance by the New Orleans Hornets."

Paul's agent Leon Rose has reportedly been in contract with several teams.
The memo, sources said, also threatens penalties for any such communications that could potentially include "suspension of the offending person, prohibition of the offending team from hiring the person being tampered with, forfeiture of draft picks and individual and/or team fines of up to $5 million."

Chris Paul has no leverage right now.

But the question I have is how many years does Chris Paul have left at a high level?

Most small PG's like Paul don't play like this for very long. From Damon Stoudamire to Kenny Anderson to Steve Francis. The prime for these players going 20 - 10 is very small then they tend to become just good role players.

I don't think Chris Paul is going to be in the best PG discussion much longer. He already had the injury.....history shows.....
