I love the pics of the Barclay center

We will see what kind of dent the Nets do to the Knicks fan base

It won't be much with the way they're playing right now.

Do not be so fast to think otherwise,

The Mets sucked for a while when they went to Shea and they have a nice chunk of fans in NYC

I think they will have more fans then they do now, that is for damm sure

Mannix from SI reports the Nets have quit... for the 10th time.

Source says it appears Nets are "throwing in the towel" on pursuit of Anthony.

Oh no I hope they do, trust me.

But with how they've played so far this year, not winning more than 3 games in a row all year, the mess that is Travis OutLOL and Blowpez, the team's inability to run any type of even a basic Offensive Set, I'm holding my breath on this long, bumpy ride.

I just hope it doesn't take as long since it sucks to have one of your teams in another sport be among the best teams in Football(Packers)and have your other favorite team be one of the bottom feeders of the NBA for most of your existence with the exception of a 5 year period(01-07) SMH.

That's a pretty good deal though man. You could be a Cleveland fan where every one of they're teams are pretty much a travesty. Or any of the other historically tortured fanbases in sports. Getting off with a trade off like that is heaven for some people.

Do you think if a LBJ or Wade was in the draft, that the Nets would deal their first rounder? LOL
Wade wasn't even known as a franchise player going into the draft. Most draft picks you barely know what you're going to get, you can only guess, so no one can say for sure if a dude like Sullinger will or won't be a franchise guy.

But soooo, what happened to that deal with Minny, NY and Denver that was "supposed" to happen today?

Re: The Carmelo Anthony (NY or Bust?) Thread

LOL at the notion of NY backing out of the last propposed deal (without Mozgov) because of the talent is giving away and the current playoffs chances ... this has never been about this year or next year, but of 2012 and beyond ... with or without Melo, in these 2 years, they wont be title contenders.

A NY team based on Amare & Melo is more appealing to any FA of relevance of that specific or any specif year ... while the cap would get contracted, so would max contracts ... the possibility of bringing in that third star is more than feaseable.

                    P.S.
Hopefully the rumor of NJ backing out is true, so we get a resolution tomorrow ... and let the last minute trades fest begin.

People are seriously underestimating how badly the owners hate what happened in Miami.

Please explain, quantifiably, how much/badly the owners hate what happened in Miami. Then provide the threshold number where their hate must/has met in order for them to take action against something like that ever happening again. I'm just wondering.

I don't think he was laughing at you, rather the actual report that was so sure a decision/deal would be made.

How about David Stern's quote over the weekend of....

"Our goals are relatively simple, We want a sustainable business model that allows 30 teams to be able to compete for a championship that fairly compensates our union members -- who are currently the best-paid union members in the world."
                              and more importantly

"The teams that have been competing the hardest in terms of moving along in the playoffs are (salary-cap luxury) taxpayers. And we don't think your ability to pay a tax to have a roster should be a part of the competitive landscape."
If the owners have they're way, CP3, Melo and Amar'e in New York is a pipe dream.
