But at the sametime, you're making it sound as if Noah is....Etan Thomas or Jahidi White or somebody and that Melo is LBJ/Kevin Durant all in one lol.

If you saw last night's Bulls-Thunder game, you'd know exactly where I'm coming from.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
I'm that guy who's never had respect for Noah but I wouldn't have made the trade either.
Carmelo doesn't fit the group of players we have now, and Noah does.

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
We definitely agree here. There is a reason that he's only made it out of the 1st round once in his career and Denver has had some damn good lineups. You have to play on both sides of the court. Melo doesn't do that. That crap might fly in the Western Conf. I don't see much difference between Melo and a guy like Jamal Mashburn. Sure they can score, but they don't do much of anything else. If Melo was such a commodity, he'd be out of Denver by now. NBA GM's know what Melo is. That's why he is still in Denver. Unless your team is already set defensively, a guy like Melo isn't the greatest acquisition.Originally posted by My Wife"The Celtics only won because they have a magical elf playing for their team...."Comment

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
How does Melo not fit the current Bulls roster? Elite PG, elite scorer, great big. How is that not a recipe for success?Comment

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
He's overrated because his game is too one-dimensional. Who cares if you can put up 30ppg every night when you give up 40+(your man scoring and others on the opposing team scoring because you are out of position) due to poor defense.Originally posted by My Wife"The Celtics only won because they have a magical elf playing for their team...."Comment

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
No interior defense. They'd win in the regular season and lose against the better teams. The team they have now (with Boozer healthy) has a much better chance against the best teams in the east.Originally posted by My Wife"The Celtics only won because they have a magical elf playing for their team...."Comment

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
And when neither play defense? Honestly?
Furthermore, the Bulls would be losing the interior defense they need (Noah) because their weak defensive PF can't stop anyone (Boozer).
I see a recipe for losses to Miami, Boston, Orlando, and eventually New York and possibly others, AND salary cap troubles.

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
I want you guys to notice, Noah had 18 point and 19 rebounds in the close opening loss to the Thunder in OKC. Yes, its not scoring, but that kind of stat line is equally, if not, more important than a 30+ point effort with little-to-no defense, which is what Melo brings to the table. We'll have three scorers with Rose, Boozer and Deng when Boozer returns. The Bulls are not a better team with Melo, period. If anything, we need a shooter to replace Brewer.
People think because Boozer is a big body, he can just come in an easily replace what Noah brings.
If Melo was on the Bulls last night, all what would've happened would be him offsetting what KD was putting up.
That's it.
Noah is a big that can take you over the top.
It's the same reason Kendrick Perkins was so key for the Celts last year. Guy's not gonna give you offense...but he's a problem.
Melo for Noah does nothing for the Bulls but increase their Offensive PPG.
Melo's great...but that deal doesn't make sense for Chicago...if they wanna be relevant against Orlando, Miami, Boston and the Lakers. Bottom line.Comment

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
I also dont agree with the notion on the last couple of pages that rebounders are a dime a dozen. Thats not true to a high degree...not guys who can snatch up 20 rebounds and play stifling defense...
I wouldn't trade Noah to get Melo, although the Bulls still need that inside regardless when its said and done, they cant remain a purely preimeter team and expect to go to the next level.
Oh and sorry, but Luc Longely didnt get pushed around in the post like he was some kind of twig...same for Bill Cartwright.
They weren't great players but its a reason they were there, and why the Bulls defense remained Wholly bulldoggish all around.Comment

Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga
The only reason Noah had 20 boards is because the Thunder have a weak front court. The Bulls problem is they can't score. No one on their roster sans Rose can create their own shot. Noah is serviceable at best. He flat out can't score on his own.
The Bulls should've scooped up Melo. Players who can crash the board come a dime a dozen, elite scorers are hard to come by.Comment
