team of stars? the only one's who could be even considered all-stars were ben wallace(i forgot how great this guy was, definite HOFer) and maybe billups depending on your standards, which would have to be low low standards.

I mean, if you take Steve Nash off the Suns back when they still had Amare, I highly doubt they'd be a playoff team either. The team was completely built around LeBron, so obviously they're going to be in for a rough year since he deserted them.
That was my point. That shows how good LeBron is. LeBron + the Cavs are a championship contender. Put almost any other player on that team and they're probably just a playoff team.

Mo quit just as much as LeBron did. It was evident in the last few minutes of the game when they just completely ignored Mike Brown.

Anyways, this thread is going to go absolutely nowhere. I'm dipping out before the inevitable lock monster comes through.

Because that team was built up with players that complimented LeBron. Obviously it's going to be a better fit for him than other stars in the league when those players were put on that team because they fit his playing style well. That's common sense...it doesn't have anything to do with how good he is.

I agree with everything Kobe said. However, I still think LeBron is the best 5 on 5 player currently in the NBA, especially when he seems to have that killer instict like he did that year against the Pistons in the ECF.
I will always, always be a Jets fan. But trust me it hurts.

i agree with everything Kobe said i don't think he'll blow Lebron out, but he's quicker and better all around player than Lebron. it would be like Magic vs. Jordan back in the day.

bluengold is gone too? whats happening to this place?

But like I said, I just can't see kobe being quicker than lebron, or better in any physical attribute.

The game would come down to who's hot an who gets the ball first, if they are playing winners take it, and if there are freethrows involved (21)

As far as it comes to loading star players or quality players around an all star. the wade and co thing isn't new. it prob the first it was said out in the open what they want to happen. when you look at some teams with star power now compared to back in the day i would say there is a big difference.

the magic led lakers had Kareem then added worthy that made a good trio, but then you added in ac green, Vladi and couple other good players.

Trailblazers - had Drexler, porter, and one other guy can't remember his name, but they were a decent team with some role players , but there center position was the worst.

Bulls (first three rings) it was just jordan grant and pippen and had good role players guys who was willing to step up.

My point is in the 90's and 80's there was usually one or two really good guys, then they had a good player and the rest were role players

But ever since the dream team in 92 every team now tries to make one some work out like the Celtics and others don't have the right pieces. lebron has not had the right pieces yet. Kobe has to an extent i think Fisher has been a more valuable player to the team than Gasol .

are you serious? Please don't make me go into this. I understand someone thinking that he is a great piece to any team and especially the lakers, but otherwise thats just ridonkulous
