Re: OKC: Who is their best player?
Dewie, what's your take on Melo? Some people on here think he's an elite player(me personally I don't think he is)but others think he is. Would you consider him one?#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: OKC: Who is their best player?
I will phrase it this way. With Melo (or Durant) as your go to scorer you can win a championship. But there are many other elements.
OKC has a lot of talent. The perception is that Durant does it all but this team has guys like Jeff Green and Ibaka who could easily step into a bigger role. Westbrook and Harden too.
Not including Durant I personally think OKC is a better team than half the league. But I value guys like Jeff Green and Harden that can play different positions and create versatile matchups. ALong with Westbrook who is a solid lead guard.Comment

Michael Beasley has been having a great year... Is HE better than Durant?
Westbrook is lighting it up right now, and I think it's sustainable but KD is still the man in OKC.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: OKC: Who is their best player?
Am I on acid? Durant overrated?
You know how hard it is to efficiently score 30+ppg on a team full of crapstuffers? The only reason anyone knows who Westbrook, Harden, Collison, Green are is because of because of Kevin Durant. The guy plays D, he hustles, he works hard, he scores, he's a leader, and he's humble. At 22 he pulled together a team full of stars and was their undoubted team leader, taking charge against the world's best when needed.
And someone said they liked Harden more than Durant out of college? Durant was the player of the year as a freshman and was forced to play power forward, where he was WAY out of his element."Well the NBA is in great hands but if I had to pick the single greatest player on the planet, I take Kobe Bryant without hesitation." - Michael Jordan, 2006Comment

He's in a much better situation than Cleveland LeBron or 2009 Dwyane Wade were.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: OKC: Who is their best player?
Yeah I agree with you to a point faster, but Westbrook is a legitimate star player on any team. Green is a starter on almost any team. Collison/Harden are bench guys to be certain.
Still though, yes you and I must have been on acid reading through most of this thread.Comment

Re: OKC: Who is their best player?
Westbrook is the exception and he's only now playing great. We're talking a guy who was a liability if he needed to take a jumper or shoot a three. He's finding his way now though, certainly, but last year he'd disappear far too often.
Harden has quite the upside IMO too. But I don't agree Durant has had it better than Lebron/Cavs or Wade/Heat."Well the NBA is in great hands but if I had to pick the single greatest player on the planet, I take Kobe Bryant without hesitation." - Michael Jordan, 2006Comment

As for Wade, I was only including his 08/09 teams. Those weren't better than OKC. He did obviously have better teams earlier in his career when he was going to ECF's and winning a chip.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. Durant is really good at scoring. Really really good. He is improving the other parts of his game. He is becoming a better all around player.
Those Texas teams he played for in college had horrible leadership, on court togetherness (as opposed to lets say Melo, DRose). What he did this summer is.....not all the interesting to me......his first few years he had a really bad plus/minus. Defense and rebounding a big question.
Anyway that OKC team is pretty talented. I think they have a lot of other pieces other than Durant. Players like Westbrook that are creating threads like this.Comment

So he needed a little more time to develop, can't slight him for that.
But he did beat Boston on the road, WITHOUT Durant and Green...something the Heat w/ LBJ, Bosh, and D-Wade have not been able to do in two contests.
Then Westbrook/Harden lead another road victory w/out Durant/Green.
The constant in those 2 wins is Westbrook...small sample size, but given this trio has been pretty much healthy since there coming into the NBA, and we don't truly know what the team is capable of without its full complement of players, it's nice to see who can take centerstage when someone like KD is out and that guy is undoutedby Westbrook.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

I'll put it like this. When I began reading the part where you were attempting to discredit Durant's accomplishments at Texas with those lame arguments, I turned my headphones up.Comment
