Didn't we already go over this? Westbrook has arguably started off as their best player, but in no way does that mean he is their undisputed best player when the dust settles.

Once again, who do you think GM's would choose?

Re: OKC: Who is their best player?

And here's the thing with the argument Phill just made. This is Westbrook's breakout year. He was a good player before that, but this is the first year he's truly in the conversation for Top 5 PG/Top 20 player or whatever "Top _____" you want to throw out there.

Durant has been in those kinds of discussions the last 2-3 years. I know, not much more than Westbrook, but still. Durant at least has a few years of this kind of production under his belt.

Also, IDK if I mentioned this already, but props to OSU for this thread. I feel like an ******* for originally brushing it off and thinking he was wrong.

What does it matter who the GM'S would choose?

I've felt like Russell has been THE man in OKC since before his second season started. I can't now because I'm posting from my blackberry but you can even check my post history to see how far back I've been saying this. I didn't just start feeling this way because of his monster play this year, because I fully expected it.

Besides being nearly 7 feet tall and being a better shooter (shooter, not scorer) there is really nothing KD does better than Westbrook.

Sure bud, GM's opinions don't matter.

And whomever decides All-NBA teams don't matter either I suppose.

I give up, you guys win.

Leaving all that other stuff aside I just have to ask about this. So you actually believe Westbrook is a better scorer than Durant??

Apparently KD averaged 30 a game last year just off of jumpshots.

Disagree. His IQ and work ethic are pretty amazing too. What impresses me most tho, is his ability to get to the line even with being so dominant on the perimeter. That's huge. Westbrook gets to the line pretty frequently too, so not so big a disparity there.

Thing is, KD is developmental prodigy. There is no way he should be as good at what he's good at as a 22 year old. Its almost as ridiculous as Brons physical traits. If KD keeps up this trajectory, he'll be nailing no-look jumphooks from the arc by the time he hits his prime. The real idols in the league have the appearance of possesing some superhuman trait like that. Westbrook is just Wade had Riles forced him to run point. Thats nasty, but it doesn't capture the imagination.

Westbrook can impose his will on a game in more ways, but he's got to do it for a couple years before anyone is gooing to give him that love...unless he has a beastly postseason.

Re: OKC: Who is their best player?

As far as being s scorer goes, KD is an amazing shooter which obviously has a lot to do with scoring and he shoots a great percentage from the outside, which he has an edge over Westbrook. Westbrook has the ability to break down defenders and get to the basket much more consistently than Durant can, also people underrate Westbrooks mid range jumper but he hits it enough that it is a big part of his game.

Durant is leading the league in scoring which is outstanding for a player his age. Westbrook is averaging like 23 points a game as a guard that isn't even shooting a decent percentage from the 3 point line.

As far as Durant's work ethic, yes it is top notch, he's an amazing player who is only going to get better. But Westbrook is a guy who never even really played the point until he came into the NBA, and yet he's quickly making himself into one of the best in the league.

I love KD, again he's an amazing player that I'm glad to have playing in OKC, but people have already have him as one of the 5 best players in the league which I don't think he is... Yet.

Is anybody watching tonights game? It's games like this, that make assertions that Westbrook is OKC's best player baffling.

And he's doing the same exact thing this year.

                        This stat proves it:
