I think you and I discussed this, but Cleveland is not the lost cause that people think they are. They've got some pieces. Main thing is replacing some of the rebounding they lost and getting that closer. Keep the money managed and look for opportunities in free agency or trade to wrap it up and they can get to be a tough team in a few moves.

They're still fodder [probably at best a .500 team], but they're definitely not bottom of the league bad like I thought they would be after LeQuit left. I saw that merely after the pre-season.

Still shows how much LeBron carried them and elevated them over the years to even be considered "contenders".

Gotta give it up to the Cavs players for not quitting like their former franchise player.

a .500 team is fodder in the present, but if you're a fan of that team, you're asking "where do we go from here?" As a Lakers fan and a guy on the outside looking in, you have the luxury of looking at a team and dismissing them on the basis of whether they have a championship team or not. Fans of the team are looking at a 7 year window and how far they can go based on the pieces they have and the opportunities they can create.

That's just to frame the discussion.

        Re: The Cavs being contenders.

Ya'll gotta choose. Either they were contenders, or they had no chance to beat the C's or the Lakers. If they were contenders, then Lebron is a god for taking a horrible team to a championship level squad, but took the easy road out in Miami.

If they were pretenders, then he was nothing more than a 2nd round mirage and saved his career by going to Miami where he has a chance to win a ring. It can't be both ways.

Bulls are hitting a ton of crazy shots tonight in Dallas. They keep cutting to Boozer with this S.E. grin that's a mile wide.

Can't wait till he's in the lineup.

Cavs also have that huge trade exemption which could come in handy if a Melo-style situation occurs (which is almost inevitable sometime in the near future). Another good thing is that next season the front office has Jamison's huge expiring to shop. So there's actually going to be some tradeable assets for the first time in awhile.

IMO the best thing to do is to build through the draft. Not many free agents are going to want to come to Cleveland when there's more attractive options out there. They have to start by establishing themselves like the Thunder did, then the free agents will start to come.

Knicks give GS their 1st home lost this season 125-119. Almost blew a 20 point lead, but would not be denied. Felton has goes off for a career high 35. Gallo has a BIG 4th to help seal the win.. & Pringles actually coached a good game.

For GS Monta goes for 40, but took over 30 shots

Damn did OJ Mayo really suck tonight. 1/11 for just 3pts in 29 minutes... that's an Anthony Morrow line. What the hell is wrong w/ this guy?

Then there's Kidd...who scored another whopping 3 pts in 34 minutes and only dished 4 assists.

Needless to say...my fantasy team got screwed tonight.

Of course they had a chance to beat any team in a series, but the odds were against them. LeBron put them at that level. With any other superstar they would not be looked at in the same light. That's why he was the best player in the past two years, he was able to take nothing more than a .500 team and make them into a title contending team.

I don't care who I'm a fan of, I'm just commenting on what I see.

Longoria filed her papers in Los Angeles this morning, amid rumors that Parker carried on a relationship with the wife of one of his fellow Spurs, reports AC Slater. Later, a Sports Illustrated boxing writer with entertainment sources confirmed that the teammate in question was Brent Barry.

Slater from Saved by the Bell reported this.

Minny makes a case for worst team just because they suck on both ends of the floor.

If Beasley isn't hitting jumpers, he's not doing much else. Same thing basically with Love, although he is obviously an animal on the glass.

As far as defense goes, they don't have many defensive minded players outside of Brewer, Darko and Tolliver.

At least Toronto can get out in transition and try to outscore you.

Clippers at some point have to finish with a better record than Minny, they just have to.
the Wolves just might finish with a better record than the Clippers. sans Eric Gordon and Griffin, the clippers dont even play hard. thier defense is T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E. they hardly talk to each other and the dont rotate.

i forgot Kaman was injured but hell, they still only got 1 win when he was there. there talented but they stink.

Great win for the Bulls on the road last night. 2-1 so far on the circus trip. Korver hit a couple huge three's down the stretch to give the Bulls the win. Gibson played well and even hit a crazy three of his own...his first ever.

I love watching Rose drive to the basket. He's tough and finishes very well around the basket.

Also, Dirk was on fire last night. His jumper is so so smooth.

The Bulls are the best kept secret in the East right now. The talking heads focus on Miami, Boston, Orlando. The Bulls look much improved, D. Rose is going next level, and Boozer isn't even back yet.

I can't wait until Boozer's in the lineup. The Bulls still have those scoring droughts when Rose isn't in the game. Boozer will definitely help in those situations. I'm enjoying the way they're playing so far and the future looks bright.

Yea...he's turned it on as of late, but before his recent 24 pt effort he had played in two games where he played 37 minutes in one and scored only 4 pts and 22 mins in another. Guess its a timing thing because had I held out for his next game I would've gotten that 24 pt boxscore....

In short. Morrow/Mayo = inconsistency be bound.
