I can't believe a 2 time reigning MVP is underrated but here we are.

Lebron, while not as hyped by the media, is far from underrated.

Jarret Jack gets a vote from me, 12 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds in 30 min on a pretty bad Raptors team.

I think Monta Ellis is without a doubt the most underrated star in the league. The wealth of great guards in the west will keep him out of the ASG forever, but he's a young explosive guard who to my knowlege is often thought of behind guys like Eric Gordon and Jax. Looking at his numbers and ability, I think he is a full tier and a half ahead of where he is considered to be. And right now, the warriors are winning.

The point is so many players are drafted by bad teams. Put up great numbers then once they play for better teams their roles are nothing like what they were on their former teams.

My example was to point out that although Wall puts up great numbers no one actually watches how he would fit in with other great players. There are only so many players that can dominate the ball.

Glenn Davis is probably a better role player than Blake Griffin. Griffin cannot hit an open jumper. Davis can. Griffin picks up silly fouls....etc....

The game is deeper than sportscenter highlights and hype.....it takes 5.

Duncan is a low key guy who on the court has had several flaws
            1. Argues with the refs constantly
            2. Always wanted to play PF instead of C because he didn't want to bang inside.....how does he get a pass on this.

              1. Arguing with the ref isn't a flaw in his game unless he's like the kid I played with in high school that would stop playing to talk to the official while his man ran down the court for a layup.
              2. He's always played inside. He just doesn't like being CALLED a center.
              3. He's like a 69% free throw shooter. I know it isn't good but it's really not THAT bad.

Duncan is a ninny like Kareem was. I can't stand how universally liked Duncan is. Especially when he throws temper tantrums like he is a 5 year old kid when a call goes against him.

I thought it was because he was the youngest scoring champ ever who also led the USA to the FIBA gold?

So you're not willing to admit that Duncan is one of the most underrated and under appreciated superstars of the past 15 years because...you just don't like the guy?

How can someone be underrated who is universally recognized as the best player either of his generation or ever at his position.

What more do people need to do? Duncan is the best big of the 2000's and may be one of the best bigs ever. Everyone knows this and everytime they speak about Duncan they say this.

                      How can he be underrated?

My opinion of his weaknesses, which plays into his hype and how much he is talked about, are characteristics of why no one talks about him like they do Kobe (off court issues), Magic (off court issues), Bird (off court issues) or any other great player.

Duncan is like Kareem in that his personality isn't hyped because he doesn't fit the superstar ideal. But to say he is underrated because of it is just insane. If he had more media attention though these negative things (like whining about every call) would be brought out more.

He should make the ASG this year. I think the Warriors team success and the injuries held him back from blossoming before. He is a scoring machine.

reading the threads in this forum i'd have to think Derrick Rose is underrated... its amazing its like nobody knows about him lol, but then again eric gordon and oj mayo were better than him in high school, and michael beasley was better than him in college lol, now westbrook rondo and wow i even just saw that nash is still better than him, okay, lol. i'll give you deron williams and chris paul (eatin crow with chris paul cause i thought he was pretty much done, flash in the pan) but gimme rose over anyone else, sure, i'm a chicago guy, but Rose has stepped it up another notch this year... Rondo is havin a hell of a year, but how many H.O.F.ers is he playin with? Rose makes each one of his teammates better, doesn't ALWAYS have the assist numbers, though he's starting to do that more often, but he makes WINNING BASKETBALL PLAYS, i swear he gets more layups than anyone else in the league

its hard for me to say Monta Ellis is underrated, what has he ever lead his team to? has he EVER made any of his teammates better? sure he can score, he's quick as hell and can score, but i don't think he makes WINNING BASKETBALL PLAYS, like someone said before me, its about more than ESPN highlights and box-scores

People still view David Lee as a scrappy, overachiever type.

The guy has really become a very good player.
