Re: 11/22-11/28 Game Discussion Thread
I dunno though King, if Chicago won with this current team, they would be bucking a trend [scoring PG winning a chip].
I'm still weary of considering Chicago as a title contender, but they sure as hell look better than their record and to me are still top 4 in their conference. I'm going to wait for Boozer to make conclusions.Comment

At least when Rose needs a breather you can throw it into Boozer and let him work. It seems like most of the offense now has to go through Rose. Nobody else can create their own shot on the team."You got it man. I don't watch hockey." SidVish"I thought LeBron James was just going to be another addition to help me score."

I definitely don't think it's a rule or anything like that.
And I should have worded it like 'it would be bucking a trend if a team with their star being the point guard won the title'... not necessarily just a 'scoring pg' although both kind of apply to what I was saying.
With all of the variables that come into play during the playoffs, Chicago could be in the mix, especially considering they have a post presence in Boozer and a defensive/rebounding center in Noah. I still say the odds are against them for this year unless they get another playmaker at the wing position.Comment

They go out and play with heart and all out effort every single time they're on the floor and that's already a key component to a championship caliber team. If the Cavs had that the Lakers might be trying to start up a new back-to-back campaign as opposed to working on a three peat. A Jason Richardson, Jamal Crawford, hell even a Shannon Brown really could put the Bulls in that discussion of teams that will be playing in late May/June and I'm confident they'll eventually find that piece as it isn't really that hard to find this piece that they're missing.Comment

Are the Spurs for real?
Or is this just old men having energy at the beginning of the season...eventually tailing off come playoff time.
I don't want to believe in them but I have to give props.
And yeah...Noah is more valuable to the Bulls than Melo. It's been said since the summer.Comment

Jazz/Hornets game last night was awesome. I knew Deron wouldn't let the foot brother him too much and he would show Chris Paul that D-Will is still the best PG in the league. Also happy to see Jefferson and Millsap both playing good, along with our bench. Great win all around and now I'm excited for the Lakers game on Friday.
Funny moment at the game...during a timeout in the third quarter, the Jazz's mascot, the Bear, went to do one of his tricks, a slide down the stairs from the top to the court. But as they were setting up for it, a guy in a CP3 jersey would not get out of the way. He could see himself on the jumbotron and he just stood on the stairs, talking on his cell phone and waving his hat. He had people pulling him and ushers telling him to sit down and he wouldn't do it. The Bear almost ran him over at one point. The timeout ends and Bear walks down and gives the guy a HARD shove. Secruity quickly walks up to the guy and takes him away. We all thought they kicked him out and were cheerly loudly.
But, no, they let him go back to his seat. So, at the end of the third quarter, Bear goes back over to the guy, steals his hat, ties it to a ballon, and sends the ballon to the rafters and runs off. The guy is just looking at his hat when Bear comes back with a pie and throws it at the guys face! It had everybody in the arena laughing.Comment

Re: 11/22-11/28 Game Discussion Thread
Anyway, here's what Melo's been doing:
25 ppg, 9.1 rpg, 3.3 apg, .462 FG%
...and the Nuggets are 8-6. And with all the rumors flying over his head about his immanent trade he still finds time to play like he suppose to AND the Nuggets are still winning. And if I can remember, didn't he score 32 points in a win against the Lakers not too long ago? So it ain't like he's just scoring against buster teams.
Now as far as Noah, he's been very impressive this season. He has exceeded the expectations I had for him. And yes, he's been a huge part of the Bulls success this season. BUT because he's been having a great season, let's not under rate what Melo's been doing. Melo's been playing with a cloud over his head and he's still getting it done.
And yes, I'd still make the trade. Noah is playing great this year BUT Melo still is the better player.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

I knew I could count on you to bring this up.

Besides, who else is there healthy to grab boards on the Nuggets roster? Al Harrington?
I'd take 9.1 RPG by Melo as a result of the Nuggets ineptitude, not his desire to suddenly rebound the ball.
Melo is Melo. He's a scorer. Nothing more, nothing less.Comment
