Did I just hear Charles Barkley on Inside the NBA say that the Bulls will win the East? This guy has been bashing the Bulls since he's been working for TNT. Even in the years the Bulls were decent, he always had something negative to say about them. I feel this steams from him being denied his only shot at the championship in 1993 by the Bulls.

Maybe it's just me, but to hear Barkley say that comes as a shock. I just hope he's right!

Meanwhile there's Bulls/Nuggets, Lakers/Jazz, Mavs/Spurs hell even Cavs/Magic only available locally or for LP subscribers. Though in fairness that Charlotte/Houston game probably sounded real good on paper before the season.

SMH They need to be ashamed of themselves for showing the worst possible games from each of the top 2 Pro Sports(NBA,NFL).

First these 2 games and then the yawnfest that'll be MNF with the Cards-Niners? #Stopitslime

I'm both looking forward to and dreading seeing what Rose does to Chauncey tonight... perfect storm of broken ankles. I hope Afflalo gets some time on him instead, because Chauncey will be in his dust cloud all night otherwise.

It'll be better than Chauncey's ***, I tell you that much. Neither has the speed to keep up with him, but Afflalo is longer. Honestly Ty might be the only chance of bothering Rose just because he can mostly keep up with him. We'll see -- if I didn't have an appointment after work, I'd probably go snag a scalped ticket just to see Rose's speed in-person.

Although I will note that Afflalo is looking better and better every year offensively.

Who would guys rather have Afflalo or Thabo? In general terms. Compare their defensive capabilities too.

Afflalo, easily... just because he has offensive capabilities that far outweigh Thabo. He's a great corner 3PT shooter (the most valuable shot in all of basketball), can can create off the dribble for himself and others, and he finishes well when he gets to the rack. I haven't watched a ton of Thabo since he's been on the Thunder, but I've never really seen him do most of those things (and his stats are pretty garbage, especially the 3PT%)... he's a better/longer defender who creates more turnovers, but that's not really enough to outweigh all the things that Arron brings to the court. He's had a renaissance over the off-season -- he was just a spot-up shooter and defender last year, the ball-handling and creating aspects of his game seem totally new... part of it's probably confidence too though, because I remember saying many of the same things when he was initially acquired from Detroit (that he can create for others, mainly).

He's probably my favorite current player on the team aside from Ty -- great effort every night with almost no mistakes. He's not an exciting guy really, but he's athletic enough to make some big plays and smart enough to know when to back off and let things come to him. If you put his brain in JR's body, he'd pretty much be Kobe.
