Re: John Wall or Blake Griffin for ROY?
I wouldn't say no learning curve at all. Every player has had a learning curve and had things to adjust to. Aside from that I don't know how old you are or just might not remember but there are a few names that come to mind that I would put just as high and/or higher than those two. Most recently would be Tim Ducan. He was a star from jumpstreet and made all defensive second team and All NBA first team as a rookie.
Then there is Shaq who was dominate from day one. He took the league by storm and there really hasn't been anything seen like a young Shaq. He came in the league bringing down entire basket structures and destroying people. He made the league change the support systems for the goals. He also is the only player in history to be named NBA player of the week the first week of thier career.
There are some other guys as well like David Robinson but those two are the most recent.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: John Wall or Blake Griffin for ROY?
Nothing against what you said. But those guys you mentioned went to school for a few years before joining the league. Blake spent a year in college. LeBron spent none. Shaq went for 2 years, Duncan went for 4. Big difference if you ask me. Even 2 years is a lot especially for a big men.Comment

my favorite thing about Blake Superior is that he has completely energized that team and has already become the leader. he is the best thing that could have ever happened to Deandre Jordan.Comment

Re: John Wall or Blake Griffin for ROY?
I totally agree. I been saying that since the first game. I was calling him Anderson Vajero's and Amare's baby. I really love his all out hustle. And like I've been saying. This guy is coming off of a knee injury. It usually takes about a year (of playing time) to fully recover and get back into a groove. Man if this is now. I can't imagine next year and the year after.
If he improves on defense. I think will get freethrows to around 70-80%. And he already has a pretty solid form.
Feel bad for John Wall. He picked the wrong year to be a rookie.
How do you guys feel about Blake being a rookie this year? He has been around the ropes. So is he really a rookie underneath it all?Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: John Wall or Blake Griffin for ROY?
Sort of off topic, but something that really gets me excited about the 2011 recruiting class for Kentucky is Michael Gilchrist. That guy has the same motor that Blake Griffin has where he plays every play like it's his last play. I love watching Gilchrist play because he doesn't have an off switch, much like Blake. It's not just a luxury to have a guy like that, it's necessary if you want to be successful.Comment

Not many people are. Nobody said anything about athleticism anyways (which it's not like Gilchrist is lacking in that department)..
You don't have to be a great athlete as long as you have a great motor to be a player that can dramatically change games. See Love/Varejao/Noah/Scola/GinobiliLast edited by DakkoN; 01-19-2011, 10:15 PM.Comment

Funny thing... I was watching the game through my phone. And saw Griffin had 7 rebounds in the first half (to go with 21 points). I thought to myself he is getting a double easy. He just needs to get another 7 rebounds. I wake up this morning.... to find out that he had one rebound after halftime.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories
