yeah, I think people hate KG's trash talk because he has a history of getting personal with certain players.

personally, I couldn't care less what he does. I think mind games are just another part of the game of basketball. if you're better than someone, talent-wise, you'll probably beat them. but if you're not better, but you can get in their head, they're done. Jordan did it. Kobe does it. Bird did it. Reggie did it. (notice all of the guys I named are all-time greats.)

Are you really gonna sit here and tell me you know what MJ was telling his opponents? Back then things weren't as PC so people didn't care as much and everyone wasn't such a bitch when it came to talking smack.

I've heard stories that Jordan & Bird would threaten harm on people and talk about their families. Just stories though..

Great video, a joy to remember the times. Seems like yesterday.

Jordan was the first athlete to take a signature shoe, and flip it into a multi million dollar shoe empire.
He did? Or Nike. Big difference in who was the "shoe empire". Jordan brand is simply a Nike moniker today correct?

No doubt Jordan was much smarter and wiser than the average athlete. But because some marketing dude at Nike decided to package a yearly edition of a shoe, like some type of woman's clothing line, is not something that is particularly good for the NBA or the world (low income folks paying outrageous prices for a shoe).

and the 2nd part I put in bold - he did more harm than good? he made it possible for the NBA to globalize the game. Jordan was the first world wide NBA superstar, and without him, who's to say we would have ever had one? you had to have the perfect balance of on court ability, as well as off court marketability and likability. Without Jordan to pave the way, LeBron, Kobe, Howard, none of those guys would know how to market themselves off the court and create a brand of their own.
You don't have a great deal of history to back you up here. And this is an academic issue (do you believe that great men make history or do great movements make history?)

Without Jordan? How about Wilt Chamberlin. He was a worldwide star long before Jordan. How about all the NBA players who went overseas and played during the 70's and 80's?

The game was global before Micheal. It was played in the olympics, players were coming into the league before Micheal sold a pair of Nike's in Nigeria or Yugoslavia or the USSR.

Micheal is not the originator, but a bright spot in a long line of people who sold shoes and globalized the game.

Your arguements are again more of myth making than truth. The very same people that are saying this about Jordan will say this about Kobe, TMac (huge in China because he played with Yao) and LeBron.
